Wireless Forums for AT&T - Usage Guidelines
AT&T provides these Wireless Forums (“Forums”) as a service to its users and customers, to help them exchange ideas, tips, information, and techniques related to our wireless services. The Forums are here for the enjoyment and benefit of all members and are accessible to all who register and are 18 years of age or older. Individuals between the ages of 13 and 18 should only use the Forums with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Like any community, the Forums are most valuable when everyone obeys certain basic guidelines and rules for online behavior. These Usage Guidelines are presented here to highlight what is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using the Forums. Your usage is also subject to the Website Terms of Use, which provides further details on the permissible use of the Forums. The Website Terms of Use is made available to you at the time you register and can also be found at www.wireless.att.com/legal. By registering and using the Forums you agree to follow these Usage Guidelines and the Website Terms of Use.
- We are here to help -
If you are new to the Forums and are unsure about anything, just post on the boards! The moderators, administrators and other participants are always happy to help. The Forums are monitored by “Moderators” and “Administrators”, who are identified by the role below their user names. Please be respectful of these Moderators and Administrators and follow the direction given by any of them.
- Keep it relevant and appropriate-
For everyone's benefit please stay on topic. These Forums are specifically provided to allow users and customers of AT&T to help each other in using wireless products and services from AT&T. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the resolution of issues regarding wireless products and services from AT&T. Other inappropriate and unacceptable behavior includes: a) discussions about how to violate any AT&T policy or agreement entered into with AT&T for any product or services, b) posting content which is created solely to “bump” an existing topic or to evade the word filter; c) double-posting or cross-posting; and d) discussions about participant bans or other Moderator actions.
- Keep it courteous -
Everyone wants to have a positive experience while on the Forums - please make sure that you are not detracting from any other user's experience. In particular, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment in the Forum, including through the Forums private messaging system, are not acceptable.
- Keep it spam-free -
This community is provided as a service to AT&T customers and users and is not to be used for the promotion of third party services, products, websites, or organizations. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.
- Keep it legal -
You may not post any material (i) that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights of any party, (ii) that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, or (iii) that is illegal under any local, state, federal, or international law, rule or regulation.
- Be careful -
Most people are happy to help out on these Forums, but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. If the advice given by a user sounds wrong to you, do not follow it. You should not post your or anyone else’s personal information on these Forums including but not limited to name, physical or email address, age, phone number or credit card information. Furthermore, if any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.
- Community Leaders -
From time-to-time AT&T may designate certain members as a Community Leader, or other valued member of the Forum community. This designation does not create an employee or agency relationship between AT&T and this member, does not make this member a company spokesperson, nor does it imply any endorsement of this member or this member’s postings. Instead, the designation only allows the Forum community to know which members have been helpful, have provided constructive advice and have set a positive example and tone for the Forums. Like any information posted on the Forums, the opinions and advice provided by these members are their own. This content is the sole responsibility of the Community Leader or other valued member, and anything we’ve said in these Forums Usage Guidelines applies equally to the content posted by these members.
- Employee and Partner Participation -
Employees of AT&T or employees of any companies that do business with AT&T may only participate in the Forums in a personal capacity and not as a representative of AT&T or any of those other companies. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals employed by companies who manufacture products, such as phones, sold by AT&T. If you are an employee of AT&T or any company that does business with AT&T please refrain from disclosing your employment status on the Forums and within private messages. Please note that only AT&T Moderators and Administrators provide official information regarding AT&T products and services. Any other postings on the Forums, like all other third party content, are the sole responsibility and the personal views of the person posting the information and such information is not being endorsed or controlled in any way by AT&T.
- AT&T retains the right to remove content and limit users' access -
AT&T does not generally edit content posted by participants in its Forums. However, AT&T retains the right, at its sole discretion, to limit users' access to the Forums and to remove material that, in AT&T's sole judgment, does not comply with the current Usage Guidelines or the Website Terms of Use, or that is otherwise inappropriate for these Forums, harmful, objectionable, or inaccurate. AT&T is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material. Moderators or Administrators may take any action they deem necessary in their own judgment to enforce the Usage Guidelines and Website Terms of Use or to otherwise maintain the integrity of the Forums. Such actions may include editing or deleting material and banning individual users.
