Krantz, I had the exact same problems yesterday. They even requested that I upgrade to 1.1.3, replace my sim card, exchage my phone at the Apple Store. I was disconnected 16 times yesterday. I will say that when I called Apple, their support was outstanding and often sat through all the disconnects with Apple. My worst experience was a rep telling me that I had to purchase a $25 minute plan to reinstate my browsing ability. As soon as I did that and it did not solve my problem, the rep hung up. It finally got to a point last night that I converted to a contract plan and dumped my gophone plan.

I have the same issue.."edge network not availible, not subscribed"...iphone-go plan dealio...For 2 days now I have no EDGE???? I am a Tech support agent at Apple and know this is not an Apple issue, called ATT which was a huge dissappointment..My account hasnt been charged the normail package fee for the data package...The one agent told me this was a known issue....WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING YET?...ALMOST 3 DAYS?..Anyone having this same issue?

Same problem here in East Cambridge, MA. I upgraded to 1.1.3 yesterday and noticed today that I lost EDGE. The reason I only noticed now is due to their awful coverage in East Cambridge, it's not like I get to use it all that often. Still annoying though since I'm paying for it.
I noticed the phone activated itself at the end of the update so it is most likely related to that. I hadn't synched to iTunes in a while, so it might not have anything to do with 1.1.3.

This is most certainly not related to anything on the iPhone itself. My household has 2 iPhones, one on 1.1.2 and one on 1.1.1. They both lost their EDGE subscriptions yesterday, were 'fixed' and were unsubscribed again this morning.
To be blunt, I'm using the gophone option simply because of things like this. I have no desire to have a 2 year lock-in to any company because I might want/need to switch if or when their service goes bad. I left at&t years ago when their eft (auto payment) system was so bad that every month they charged me late fees even though their originial transactions always happend on schedule, but the billing and invoicing systems took over 20 days to register the transactions. the fix then: pay with a paper check instead of auto pay via eft.
Seems like system flaws here again, and after 2 hours on the phone yesterday and another 1 today, with many disconnects on the way to supervisors both days, I have no EDGE, and I'm getting many, many $.01 charge and credit messages. I just had to clear 10 of them before I could answer a call.
And the irony is, that the one thing that I'm being told will absolutely positively resolve this is accepting a contract. But why would someone accept a contract to get basic service to work and subject themselves to a penalty if they then decided or needed to switch providers because of poor service?
