At around 6am this morning my phone woke me up dinging with notifications saying "There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in the roaming network you are in." It says this almost as soon as it boots up and again if it tries to register on the network. Now I have had no problems for months now and don't know what changed but shortly after the message above I end up with "No Service" Anyone else having this same problem? The phone seems to work fine with a friends new at&t SIM but no longer works with my AT&T Blue SIM again!

Well I just got home from work and tried my SIM in an old non-3G phone and guess what.... It's working FINE! Seeing that my phone was working fine till this morning and nothing changed on it, one can assume this is an at&t issue and not a Phone or SIM issue! at&t has once again killed my AT&T 3G Service! Let's not make me repost closed topic discussions! See:

Did you try a reset of your device (soft reset, if that doesn't work, a hard reset)? Have you requested a new SIM card? Why are you so hard set on keeping your OLD blue AWS (AT&T Wireless Services) SIM?
It seems quite logical actually to try to troubleshoot more before you pin the blame on someone so early in the process.
It also seems like your posts are very... uhm... flamebait-ish? I'd consider toning yourself down some and people would be more responsive to helping you out (i.e. you're more likely to be responsive to a person who is calm and rational, versus someone who is yelling and screaming at you).

Of course I have tried Soft Resets and all the basic troubleshooting steps but since you must have skimmed my post, here again are the results of the troubleshooting that pretty much point back to at&t as being where the problem lies.
Test 1: The phone seems to work fine with a friends new at&t SIM but no longer works with my AT&T Blue SIM again! = Phone Works Test 2: I just got home from work and tried my SIM in an old non-3G phone and guess what.... It's working FINE! = SIM Works Conclusion: Seeing that my phone was working fine till this morning and nothing changed on it, and taking both tests above into account. One can assume this is an at&t issue and not a Phone or SIM issue!
Now if you read the post I had linked to you would see why this one may have started out with me sounding so demanding and frustrated. This is clearly the same problem as before with one difference, I get a popup as soon as the phone goes into 3G mode that makes no sense. "There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in the roaming network you are in." I am not roaming anywhere! I am the same place I have been for the past few months while having no issues with my phone/service. I prefer to keep my "Blue" account as I have free Unlimited incoming MMS/TXT as well as Unlimited 7pm Nights & Weekends and my Unlimited Internet access is only $25/mo. If they wanted to get us to migrate to new accounts then they should quit taking away and charging for services that we can currently get for free or less than any new plan.
Again it's not that I want to come off as being rude or snobby but it's hard when I have been through this all before! My phone currently states "No Service" and untill that is fixed and I can get on the 3G network again, im just not going to be satisfied with letting it go!

After the Online Customer Support told me they could do nothing. I had an hour and a half phone session with Tech Support and they opened a case for me. Other than that there is nothing new to report. Still no 3G Service for my AT&T Blue SIM. EDGE is so slow!

Here is a solution that might work for you.
AT&T has recently updated their TOS. See: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/speechless/att-lets-you-talk-but-limits-what-you-say-305583.php
Basically if you bad mouth AT&T and they are aware of it, they can terminate your service.
So go right ahead... complain all you want. Involve any and all consumer advocacy groups you wait. Gripe about how horrible their Customer Service is. They will fix your problem by terminating your service.
Then you will no longer have to worry about your legacy plan, your blue AT&T sim, or you lack of 3G service.
Or, you can bite the bullet and upgrade to a legitimate 3G sim and pay the same price everyone else is paying. You have been getting a discount for some time now thanks to your legacy plan. Be grateful for that and stop being a donkeys backside moaning about how they are out to screw you over.

Don't worry, I was informed on Friday by a customer service rep that all customers that are still on the old AT&T Wireless BLUE system will be forced to change to the New AT&T ORANGE plans early next year. And yes, they can do this! The rep explained to ease the pain to customers they will be offering big discounts on equipment and accessories. This is a blow to me and some of my legacy BLUE accounts that have $5.99/month plan with unlimited text messaging, free weekends and evenings and 10 cents a minute during peak, but not much anyone can do.....
