There is an interesting thread going on at prepaidgsm.net on some dual sim (both sims active at once) quad band phones that are on the market, including a Chinese quadband that only costs $108 unlock. For those of you who use prepaid SIMs as part of your connection strategy, this seemed like it might be very handy.

Be very careful of these phones. They are advertised as quadbands when in fact they are not. They are mostly asian dual band or tribands. Service centers are almost no where to be found.

The dealextreme model seems to have a pretty good review from two of the users over there whom I know and trust. (I've been an active prepaidgsm.net member for years). The dealextreme phone is $108. I plan on buying the phone and reporting back. I live right on the Canadian border and having my Canadian SIM available would be real nice and the US side of the border is included in my calling area which is nice since inbound calls do not come out of my bucket of minutes as long as I am in the Detroit/Windsor area.
