Can you set the ringtones you downloaded from MediaNet as the general ringtone (for the profile)?  Or do they not work there either?

So long as the file size is small enough (less than 300 kB) and you've stored it in the same folder as the at&t provided ringtones, you should be able to use others as well.

To assign a ringtone to a contact:

Click the Contacts shortcut

Open the contact

Click options (the left shortcut key) and select "Ringing tone"

To assign a ringtone to a group:

Click the Contacts shortcut

Click right on the d-pad to view Groups

Highlight (do not open) the group

Click options (the left shortcut key) and select "Ringing tone"
