I have Sierra Wireless USBConnect 881. Driver version 2.1.6.0 (dated 9/18/2007)

Checkpoint SecurClient VPN client.

Same problem. Blue screen => VPN user file corrupted.

Second blue screen over a couple of days. Problem started after taking the SierraWireless card to use.

Anybody have any idea about a fix?

Thank you.

I ended up taking the card back. They gave me an updated version of the card. Check the website. There is a card upgrade download. They downloaded the upgrade but it didn't help. I still got the "blue screen" and the corrupted notice. I took the second card back and decided to just forego the whole attempt. They tried to tell me the problem was with my laptop. Other co-workers have gone to Sprint without a problem. I may go that route. If it doesn't work, then it is my laptop. Calling Tech Support was helpful though. Good luck.

Did you have the same environment?

Sierra Wireless USBConnect 881 + XP + CheckPoint VPN?

I do not think that the VPN software is to blame in any way. I just think that it triggers a problem caused by the modem driver.

My system was working perfectly all the way up to installing this modem.

Thank you

The only update I found when looking on the Sierra Wireless website was a software update for their "watcher" application. I don't see any firmware updates for the card itself. And from what I gathered from an email exchange with their Tech Support a week ago, they recommend using the AT&T Communications software instead of using the Sierra version. Where did you find it?

The AT&T sales rep supposidly found it and installed it. They said the initial software I bought was an older version so I exchanged it for newer version. Still didn't work for me. It corrupted my vpn keys and I had to keep having it reinstalled. Too much trouble and not user friendly.

If you install the Sierra Watcher, it seems to install new USB drivers as well.

See my version number from the posting above. This was three months more recent than the version installed by the AT&T package.

You can still keep using the AT&T Communication Manager.

Getting the later USB drivers seemed to fix a number of issues related to return from hibernation. However, I still have the blue screen.

I do not think that this is a laptop problem, even though the reps like to say so.

I had the Blue screen when installing the 881, turns out that IF you have Roxio CD burning software on your computer and it is less then Version 10.1, this will cause a problem.

First, remove the wireless card, uninstall All Roxio software, reboot, install the ATT manager program, and put wireless card or the 881 in the computer. Then install the latest Roxio 10.1 or above. This solved my problem.

Just a note, I bought the Roxio 10.1 suite from eBay for $17.00. Downloaded the latest version from Roxio and the key was sent from the person I bought from eBay. Works great now.. Good luck!
