Normally I would agree 'John_b', However the initial announcement appeared sometime back in April/May of this year. Thats close to 7 Months.
I would imaging that if AT&T has indeed been testing this ROM Upgrade since then, they should have found and/or worked-out all of the bugs by now
and released the update to their Customer base.

But I agree with all the others who feel that the sheer LACK of communication with their customer base is utterly ridiculous and flat out unprofessional.
Customers remain loyal customers based in large part of their treatment as Customers. And with this kind of treatment I would not be surprised if
AT&T experiences a mass exodus (to their Competitors)

My 2 cents...:manwink:

has anyone running the beta version tried SDHC memory card? A higher limit than 2gb would be great, and I've heard that WM6 might allow this

Maroons08,

I've seen a post over at Howard Forums that deals with your question. Apparently the latest ROM allows for cards greater than 2GB.

me thinks the real "drop dead" date will be when the first BJ "2yr service plan" contracts expire... roughly 11/2008?
Before that nearly all BJ users are locked with ATT.
Armed with that security, as long as they can redeem themselves (who knows how) to the BJ customers, before they have the option to move on, their bottom line could work out nicely...

How do we know that AT&T is lying to us?  All we have to go on is "3rd quarter" and they simply let us down on that.

Lets try not to speculate on what other people are saying.  They're not AT&T reps, and I'm pretty doubtful that they actually have communications with higher-ups in the company.  If they did, the info probably would have been released already.  Just be patient and know that when WM6 finally arrives, if ever, it will be very stable.  Just be happy you have a great device to work with.  I'm pretty sure that the most of us didn't care about getting wm6 until someone at AT&T accidentally released some tentative info.  I'm also positive they've been dealt with if the info was not supposed to be leaked.

I really don't think we're going to see it today. It occurs to me that AT&T/Samsung should get their act together and release a definitive date or tell us that we're not going to get WM6. A little honest communication would go a long way in suppressing ill-feelings directed at them. All this "non-information" is ridiculous. Someone, somewhere has concrete information that needs to be disciminated and filtered down to us.

And what happens when something comes up that delays the launch? There are good reasons why they don't announce dates, if/when they get pushed back people get ticked (more so than if there is not a date announced).

The rom that has been floating around from microsoft  has been given to at&t around the middle of april for final testing. At&t needed 8 weeks to test it. I can understand not giving a date in case there may be delays due to problems. But it is now the middle of november. how much time do they need?
What problems have they got that could not have been taken care of already.

And to add to that... I know if I were to tell the customers that I develop software for that the product will be out soon over and over and over, I would be out of a job.  Now don't get me wrong I want a stable piece of working software, it's the fact of give me a solid time frame, not this "soon" idea of time.  Do any of you work for a company that would let you set a time frame as "Soon" for something that you are working on, and keep pushing it back for months?  Just my 2 bits. :smileywink:

Well, to be honest, I only began using the term 'soon' in reference to the launch of these upgrades last week - never before. Any allusion or statement otherwise is just plain errant. I understand there was initially a target release period of Q3 which was not met, but there has since been no rescheduled date or timeframe offered since that has passed - at least none made available to the customers or myself.

We understand people urgently want this free software, but we can only pass on the information we're given and we have yet to be given a date or timeframe for this update.
