I used to have an awesome setup. I would connect to my Blackjack via the PAN (personal area network). I would allow my Blackjack to do Internet Sharing and presto, I used my Internet via my Bluetooth connection to my Blackjack. When I got Vista I can no longer do this. Can anyone help? HELP!!!

I'm in the same boat - I can:
Get Internet Connection Sharing to work over USB modem
Create a BT partnerhsip between Vista PC and Phone
Get BJ to use Active Sync with Vista PC via BT
But I can't:
Get Internet Connection Sharing to work over BT connection.
Does anyone on Cingular/Samsung read these boards?

Probably not. Even if they do, they can't fix the issue that is in Microsoft Vista OS. You need to bug microsoft to the support. As far as I know, no body is able to do so in Vista. |

As noted in my message above, I can leverage Internet Connection Sharing using USB to my Vista PC.
To me, the problem isn't with Vista - it's with the phone. I had a TMobile MDA that used to work in this way and now my Blackjack does not.
It looks like the issue lies with Samsung/Cingular. If I remove the BT partnership, and recreate it while trying to access a BT WAN (in Vista) I get an error - noting the phone has not serial port connectivty. It looks like something is disabled on the phone.
All the more reason to ship us WM6 sooner than later.

MDA, being an older WM5 device, has BT DUN modem profiles but lacks Internet Connection Sharing functionality. When Microsoft introduced Internet Connection Sharing in WM5 AKU3, it also removed BT DUN modem profile support. BlackJack runs WM5 AKU3. The way to connect to BlackJack via BT to share internet is: (1) Start Internet Sharing on the phone. Select BT and click connect (2) On your PC, go to your BT Network adapter or BT PAN service, select connect command to let it search for BT networking device that is your phone. In XP, you can find and connect to BlackJack without problem. In Vista, it will not recognize BlackJack as having BT PAN service at all. The problem is with Vista.

Has anybody found a way around this so I can connect using bluetooth instead of using the usb cable all the time. Got a laptop to be portable without wires.
