I want to be able to pull up the number pad, push on a number and speed dial through that method.  You can call the answeing service with the number 1 on the keypad, but I have found no instructions on how to setup other numbers the same way.

Thanks for any help.

What phone do you have?  That feature is not supported on the Eternity, I'm not sure about other models.

In the Epix, click on Contacts, click on the contact, click Menu, select Add to Speed Dial, select the desired Location.

Thanks.

Unless I'm mistaken the operating software on the Impression and the Eternity are almost identical .  I believe the speed dial is lacking from the Impression too.

Yup, no actual speed dial on the Impression.  You can use the "Favorite Contact" widget bar or press the left button on the front of the screen and it will bring up a call log and you can call from there.

I have discovered that I can "speed dial" the same way I did on my Razr.  At the keypad, enter the speed dial number, then the pound key and it will bring up the corresponding contact.  The only problem is that it is based on the contact number in your SIM card (so your contacts must be saved to your SIM card as well as your phone), and I don't know how to change the numbers.

I just figured it out.  If you go in the main menu, select Address Book, select Address Book Settings, you can set the contacts to only view from the SIM card.  Then when you go into contacts and select each one, you can change the number where each contact is stored.

I found an alternative way to save contacts on the closest thing to a speed dial:

(1) From Main Screen press"Dial"

(2) Type in a desired telephone number (e.g., (123) 555-1234)

(3) Press Save

(4) Press New

(5) When prompted for "Memory Location," Press SIM (ignore if it says "already in use":smileywink:

(6) Complete information requested on screen (e.g., name, phone, email, group, etc.)

**(7) For the LAST ENTRY FIELD ON THE ABOVE-REFERENCED SCREEN (which is actually the SIM number), choose the corresponding speed dial number you want (e.g., 002)
(8) Press OK

(9) Press save

To access speed dial number (with above example):

(1) Press Dial

(2) Press number as programmed and then # (e.g., 2#)

(3) Press Send

I hope some of you find this helpful!
