This is becoming a bit annoying... Several times a day whenever XpressMail downloads new emails it marks some or all of my saved "READ" emails as "UnRead". As a result the new email notifications shows that I have received several emails while some times it has downloaded only one new email. To alleviate the problem I installed a utility called Safe Inbox Extender from xda-forums which adds options to Mark all as Read and Deleted All to the inbox menu. Btw, the Q Inbox Extender that I found around the net does not give a warning when you click Delete All... so be carefull if you are using this version. As shipped the BJII does not have these options in the inbox menu and forces one to read the saved emails one by one which is even more annoying. There is something wrong here and it needs to be acknowledged, identified and fixed. I noticed other posts from users complaining about the same problem. So this is not exclusive to my BJII setup. EDIT: Ooops... I thought I was posting in the AT&T XpressMail thread... Moderator feel free to move this post there as I think is a better fit. Thanks...

Ok lets clarify a bit:
1) When you say "saved" emails get marked as unread, where are these emails saved (drafts folder/customer folder)? 2) Are they just old emails in your inbox and random old emails in the inbox get marked at unread? 3) Does this happen every single time you sync? 4) Are they random emails that get marked as unread or are they same specific emails that keep getting marked unread?
Does this continue to happen after re-registering the client?

1) Emails that I have received via XpressMail and that I have already read, but that I'm still saving in the Inbox folder of my Verizon email inbox. Since they're in this folder the number of unread emails is increased by the number of email just received plus the number of emails that have reverted to Unread. 2) It depends on how you define "Old". It happens to emails in the inbox that I received and read today, yesterday last week, two weeks ago...etc 3) Not when I sync... When XpressMails downloads the email(s) to my BJII at the intervals specified in XM Settings (Every half hour). but it does not mark read emails unread every time. 4) The number emails and the specific emails that revert to unread are random. There has got to be a better way to fix XpressMail problems other than re-registering the client. This is a volatile procedure that deletes your data. I keep a significant number of emails in my inbox for reference as they have content that I need to use while I'm on the road. If the re-registering fails... I loose the whole Kit and Kaboodle. I could also be in an area of NYC where 3G reception is marginal or not available. I hear mention several times that re-registering is required to clear some problems. Something about accounts being wedge somewhere in the XpressMail server or in the AT&T ether... This is clearly a bug somewhere on the AT&T side of the equation,.

Is this a personal or work email account? Are you using the desktop connector on your PC or just the device client? If its a work account, do you have outlook web access enabled (the feature that allows you to check your email via a web page)?

Personal... verizon.net email using the XpressMail client with scheduled 30 minute updates. No desktop connector... just the device client. Not a work account... Personal. I can check my verizon email via the verizon web interface, but only when I'm at home. (Not frequently enough these days) I've been noticing that it happens even when there is no new emails at verizon. It is very random. At the half hour preset interval it work just fine "sometimes"... sometimes it marks a few of the oldest emails that I have saved as unread... sometimes just one, two or three... sometimes a whole bunch of them... sometimes all of them.
