- On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send.
- Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages.
- Write down the number (including +1)
- Dial **61*+1xxxyyyzzzz*11*30# and hit Send. +1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum
- Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active.

Yes, my SE doesn't display the delay
nckvilledudes wrote:Thanks for the help was able to set it to 30 seconds as was described. Just realize that some phones with not display anything but the voice mail number it is calling when you do it so after you set it to 30 seconds, have someone call you to make sure it is set to 30 seconds if you cannot visually confirm it on your phone. Thanks again!

*62*destination# (unreachable, the closest I can find).
deluxo wrote:Thanks, I get it. After 30 seconds my voicemail goes to my MagicJack now, but what is the string you enter to turn the "forward when unavailabe" off? By the way the easy way to use this feature is to create an entry in your phonebook with a voice command. Thanks

Hi: Thanks to this forum, I was able to increase the number of rings on my new Samsung A237 to 30 seconds, but that was too long. So, reduced to 25 seconds, but now all calls go directly to my Voice Mail with no rings at all. Can someone please help me??
Dial ##002#, check to see if that helps, then try setting the number of rings again.

When I do the *#61# all I get is: "Call forwarding, no reply, call forwarded to +zzzzzzzzzzz" (but I don't get the delay amount listed).
Phone is a BB Bold 9000.

Yep, some phones apparently don't display that, in which case you can still use the instructions to change the settings, but will actually have to call the number to verify they've taken place or if you have a backup phone that does display it, pop the SIM into it.

Your call forwarding for unanswered calls is not set. Dial ##002# before trying *#61# — it will reset to default.

I called ATT customer service about this. The maximum delay that they allow is 30 seconds. They claim that it is absolutely impossible to make the delay longer than 30 seconds. Their systems will not allow it. They also calim that all providers have this limit.
The reasoning is that they (an everyone else) has decided that after 30 seconds they are going to charge you for one minute usage. They want to be really nice to the customer and not charge them for that minute.
This ignores the fact that if you do not pick up inside the 30 second window, you caller is going to be sent to your voice mail. You will then have to incur minutes to listen to your vice mail. It also ignores the fact the minute that I may have been charged may well have been one of many types of free minutes (moble to moble, evening, weekend, etc).
In my explorations of this topic on the Internet, I see that are thousands of people who need more than 30 seconds to get to their phones.
The customer service manager told me that the only thing that I could was to write a letter to ATT corperate.

- You can check your VM from a landline phone and not incur charges
- You can check your VM during N&W and not incur charges
- You can call back (if the caller ID was received) without checking VM

Yes, I could do all those inconvient things. ATT could also let my phone ring for 60 seconds so I do not have to jump through these hoops.
My understanding is that the 30 seconds maximum is a standard adopted by GSM networks world-wide. I don't know if it's a standard spelled out in the GSM standard reference, but it could very well be.

Tell the representative to set your voicemail deposit number in your NO ANSWER CALL FORWARDING, update, and THEN change your ring time.
