At&t family map

I see that you can add at&t family map to locate your other phones when being used. I want to add this to monitor my children. Do they get notified that they are being located? Also how can I set up my account so my number is the main number on the account? I believe it already is but how do find out if it is? the secondary phone gets bill payment reminder texts? why dont I get these? most important is do the family members know i am locating them if i add this feature?

All phones included in Family Map get a periodic text message stating the phone can be found with Family Map.

As for the main phone number, that should be stated on the website or you can just call them and ask them.

Are the bill payment reminder texts automatic or is someone requesting them via Settings, Phone, ATT Services? Any phone on the plan can request minutes/bill due/data-messages. My son could do that on his phone and his father was the main account holder.
