I just got the HTC Pure and noticed that is only has 850/1900 for 3G. Are there any international countries running these 3G bands? If not I may have to get the Tilt 2 instead. The Tilt 2 is a killer phone but having a phone that weighs almost 7 oz scares me. On a positive note, I may be able to scrap my gym membership, carrying this thing around all day. LOL
There are a handful of countries outside the US using 800-850/1900 3G. Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Australia, Thailand and Indonesia. In most of these countries there is only one operator that uses the 850/1900, the rest use 2100.

Thanks! I am still thinking about whether to keep it or not. I do use a lot of data apps while in the USA, but when overseas, all I really use data for is sending and receiving email, so I am thinking that Edge will do fine for that. I just like the Pure way more than the TIlt 2, due to size and weight.

You know, the Pure listed on AT&T's site shows it operates on 900/2100 3G as well............ You are going to be ok with it overseas.

I just noticed that myself! How confusing... on some other websites and a pocketnow video it says 850/1900 only. I hope AT&T did not make a mistake on their site!

I think AT&T site may have an error, I checked at the local corporate store and the 3G is listed as 850/1900 on the box itself. There are probably two versions of the phone and AT&T got the US version.
If you are only going to use it for E-Mail, you will be fine with EDGE speeds. I have been to countries with no 3G and had no problem.
