I noted someone else asked about receiving international calls on cellphones. I don't mean to clog up the forums with repeated questions, but the answer the other person received was a tad bit unclear to me. I know it costs to call, as I found out the hard way, calling Canada and yapping on the phone for 3 hours [biiig no-no!] But I was wondering if I'm able to receive calls on my phone, and I'd like to know before having them call me and experience what I had previously. Would it be free if they called me during my 7pm-7am and weekends when it's free for U.S. people to call me, or would I still be charged, seeing as how it's considered international to call Canada, and may be charged for receiving them as well. I'm not sure if I need a specific plan to allow them to call me, or just have it not matter as it's an incoming call, not an outgoing. So again, I'm sorry for basically a duplicate post, but I figured I'd type a message myself and see if I could get it answered a little bit differently. So if someone could let me know, I'd be much obliged!

All incoming calls are treated the same regardless of where they come from. If the call rings your phone during your nights and weekend time period you can chat away as if the call had come from next door. There is never an extra charge to receive an incoming call when you are in the US unless you run out of mins in your plan. AT&T does not care where the call comes from.

This is good to know since hubby will be leaving for Iraq soon. We are not sure what we are going to do for his phone but if he gets a local phone then it won't cost us to have him call me. We need to do some research on their phones over there though.
