Check out MagikMail in the marketplace. It works vis a free YouMail account. I've used it since day one and it is a great VVM client. Probably better than whatever MS and ATT will support. The developer of this app is very customer service oriented and regularly updates the app with good user recommedations.

Still no word on when they will activate this feature for WP7. This is idiotic since they support the feature on the iPhone.

I don't know how to do so other than through this forum, so I'm replying here to voice my request that AT&T support Visual Voicemail on the Windows Phone platform. I would like to upgrade from an older iPhone to a Samsung Focus S, but the lack of support for this feature may be a show stopper, or an incentive to switch to a carrier who will provide it. If there is a plan to provide this feature and it is simply not yet available, I would wait for a reasonable period of time - I'd simply like to be aware that support for it is forthcoming.

I just got the update on my Focus v1.4 and am shocked that ATT would remove visual voicemail. Unless this is fixed very soon, I will change carriers. I have not changed carriers since 1998, but I was really counting on this feature and I think removing this featue is inexcusable. This feature is a primary feature of the operating system.

It looks like AT&T has no plans to give us Visual Voice Mail anytime soon. Straight from a tweet from @ATTCustomerCare http://wmpoweruser.com/no-visual-voice-mail-in-the

This seems nuts. I could understand if AT&T were trying to prop up iPhone by making Visual Voicemail iPhone-exclusive (I'd be annoyed, but I get it.) But it's available for BB too! And from what I understand, it's the same back-end technology. So what's the issue?
Hey AT&T: get Visual Voicemail "in the works" for Windows Phone already!

I am so ready to ditch my Android ... but I can't because AT&T doesn't seem to understand how critical a feature VVM is. Sheeesssssh.

I guess it's a calculus something like: Windows Phones are a tiny percentage of their sales, so why invest even the most modest resources in supporting the feature.
Fortunately, Google Voice is a free, good, working alternative and the GVoice app works well on Windows Phone, supports push notifications and live tile. As a bonus, you get hilarious mis-transcriptions that at least give you a hint at the message content. (The GVoice app previously was pretty buggy, but the dev. has recently Mango-updated it and it's now smooth and the notifications are a cinch.)

I dunno. I wasn't impressed. I found Google Voice to be a far cry from iPhone VVM.

How have we not heard anything about VVM coming to WP7 on ATT? I think we should at least have be told something by now. I am sad to say come this June if VVM is not available on WP7 I will be leaving ATT after 17 years of service.

JFizDaWiz,
What is VCRS and how does it impact Visual Voicemail? I believe that Windows Phones support MMS. Just a note, T-Mobile have enabled Visual Voicemail for Windows Phone users on their network. I don't know the differences in technology between T-Mobile and AT&T but it seems like this is something that should be doable.
There are a lot of frustrated folks here and I want to thank you for responding to this thread.
Chad

Sounds pretty much like an ATT employee. "No feature in your side?" What does that MEAN? Other carriers are supporting Visual Voicemail for Windows Phone, so clearly it CAN be done.

I am sorry but as an ATT employee I dont think you are on the engineering side of their service and have little to no idea what you are talking about.
There is a VVM platform built into WP7. In fact it uses the OMTP standard that is also used in the iPhone and Android platforms... So it is in fact "as simple as just having an app" since ATT supports OMTP but chooses not to allow for WP7 to currently have the option enabled.
I am not trying to make you look bad but if you are going to post to something make sure you know what you are talking about plz.

I would hope with the upcoming release of the Lumia 900 and Titan 2 that someone at ATT would be looking into this. How about an update ATT.

I am not sure if the 'AT&'T guy has all the information.
If the problems were purely technical AND not business related then I would agree...
...problem is that some developers have worked throught the so-called credential issues and enabled visual voicemail
Samsung Focus S
I thought it just wasn't possible..., no way, no how, no can do
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1
So the problem 'appears' to be business related and not technical....unless so developers know more than about AT&T network than they do...and how to turn on the switch.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is coming out on the 9th of April.... Can we get any info on whether or not ATT is going to cripple the flagship Windows/Nokia Phone by not allowing VVM?

This has become a joke, AT&T can't seem to do what couple developers/hackers, have proven can be done. I'd suggest that AT&T hire these guys. I am not sure why the delays on this, but I do not think its a case of lack of technical skill.

JFizDaWiz so why doesn't AT&T get off their duff and enable it for WP7? They can do it for Apple, they can do it for everyone else. AT&T is supposed to be WP7's premier carrier, users should not be treated like neglected pets.
