The Family Map iPhone app needs to be updated to run properly in the background under iOS4.x.
Currently, when I run the app it immediately displays a timeout message "Your Session has expired due to inactivity. For security, the app will now exit." and quits. It's very annoying even neglecting the odd capitalization and inappropriate use of the comma. I have automatic sign-on enabled so I'm not sure what the point of the "security timeout" is anyway, pretty dumb if you ask me. There should at least be a menu option, followed by 6 pages of legalese that nobody will ever read, to turn it off.
The history thing is weak, it should show a trail on the map. It really needs an auto-tracking feature where it polls the device at a given interval (say, every 15 minutes).
The scheduler is a cool concept, but the scheduling options are too basic. I need to set different options for alternating weeks, and there is no way to do it. Scheduling should really be integrated with the iPhone's calendar rather than part of the app.

Oh, crap. Guess I should have read through the other posts before I bothered writing that. Apparently nobody is listening.
"If an app sucks in the middle of the forrest, will AT&T even bother to check their own {word filter evasion} message board???"
