Just got my new phone today and tried to text a photo to a friend--it failed and I got the message "MMS not supported by network". I reset the APN to default but that didn't do anything. Any wise wizards who can help with this? Thank you!!!

Yes, internet works fine. I thought maybe the picture was too big, but it's automatically resized anyway...Argh!

Ugh, so it's not just an MMS issue--I didn't receive any of the texts people sent me today, so it's a whole SMS/MMS *** up. Anybody else have this issue? I got the phone at Best Buy and have no idea whether I should ask them or go straight to AT&T...
Btw, thanks for your replies ilikewireless!

Thats not a phone issue its a reception issue...restart your phone and you should start receiving all ur messages at once maybe. Its an AT&T thing, it has happened to me with other phones and its pretty annoying at times

Went to the AT&T store and learned that the Best Buy rep messed up--she didn't transfer my existing messaging plan. But that shouldn't stop me from being able to use texts, right? I'd just have to pay per text, right? Not quite. Apparently, even pay as you go texting is a type of "plan" under AT&T. So when the Best Buy rep dropped my previous plan and didn't sign me up for pay as you go texting, I wasn't allowed to use texts at all. The AT&T rep just reinstated my previous plan and everything works now.
So hurray, no issues with the S3 itself! Thanks for the suggestions! Lesson learned: before you leave Best Buy or any other authorized retailer, make sure they've transferred all of your plans!

I cannot send or recieve picture messages. I cannot send or recieve large texts. i cannot access the internet at all. My phone says emergency calls only or mobile network not available. i have another phone line on my account and that phone has service in the same spots that my galaxy s3 doesn't. I keep falling off the at&t network. I have gotten numerous new sim cards as well as a replacement device. i've had MULTIPLE cases opened up through tech support and the only resolution at&t gave me was to leave my contract and go to another provider. i have been told that no one else is experiencing this problem either. when people call me, it will ring twice on their end, and then go straight to my voicemail. i will not get any notifications of a missed call, nor will my phone ring. I am so very upset and have been calling tech support daily so they can connect me back to their network. i have also done many factory resets as well and the problem is still existing. so if any of you got your issues resolved, will you please let me know what was done to correct these problems. I would love nothing more than to end this contract free of charge with at&t like they proposed for a resolution, BUT i have 3 other lines on my account and they refuse to allow me to leave those contracts as well as those 3 other lines are NOT experiencing the same issues I am experiencing. PLEASE HELP!!!

Just request a warranty repair or replacement. The phone is warrantied for a year from purchase.
If you have a AT&T device support center, you can go right in an exchange. http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB9142
Otherwise, jsut call the warranty service department at 1-800-801-1101.

I agree with redpoint73, this definintely sounds like a physical issue with the phone. Will you please send a private message to ATTCustomerCare with your name, account number, email address, phone number and the best time to contact you? I'd like to see what your options are regarding replacing this phone. That will depend on the warranty status but lets make sure we cover every possible resolution.
To send a private message, you can either click on the link in this message or click on the little blue envelope in the upper right hand corner, click "compose new message" and type ATTCustomerCare in the "Send To" field.
As of May 1st, I am no longer serving as the Community Manager for AT&T. This account will no longer be able to accept private messages. If you have an account related issue, please send a private message to ATTCustomerCare.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! Get ont he ATT website and go to contact us. do live chat with them. They have to enable it for you. IF you have unlimited texting it doesnt cost anything extra. This was the case for me. Hope this helps!
