Can someone tell me why the HTC site with the Fuse update (Maint Release) requires a serial number and then does not accept what I enter?

I have taken the battery out and then enter the S/N sequence which is printed there which is HT###k###### and it is rejected with a message that this software is not for my device.

If I were getting a 404 that would be one thing but it appears that my SN is not registered and yet I was sent this Fuse as a replacement for a defective one which I originally bought from AT&T.

This is REALLY frustrating as I want to use the OEM product to protect my warranty and I can not seem to get to download it.

Thanks for any advice which you may be in a knowledgeable position to offer.

You may need to clean your IE or FireFox browser cache and temp files. Under IE, see Tools menu, Internet Option.

I have no problem reaching the page and downloading the file.

Thanks for the reply.  I flushed the IE history, cookies, EVERYTHING, closed the browser and then opened with a new attempt.

The result was a red error message after I put my same SN in CAREFULLY "Sorry this software download is not suitable for your device".

Any other ideas?

I was able to link there from Fuzemobility.com, I am not sure if there is any variations but I just finished the download and ready to flash now!!!

Still unable to get there even after cleaning the history. But I downloaded it from here  http://ow.ly/aVUu  can someone please confirm this is the same file? I dont feel like waiting until HTC fix the issue

Since I cant get to the HTC download page, I downloaded the ROM from http://ow.ly/aVUu  and finished flashing my phone. It seems that TF3D launches much faster and it is definitely more responsive. I wonder if there were any improvements to the power management so the battery would last a little longer. I also love the fact that the TF3D player recognizes the album pics. Didnt see any other updates that affect my day to day use of the phone

I was able to get the update yesterday afternoon from HTC seems like the battery is a little better.  I have a small problem and wondered if anyone else has had  this the little tower next to the signal strengh will automatically change to E on its own and need a battery pull to get it to shut off going to connection settings to turn it off does not work. this only happens since I downloaded the update.

I am not sure what the problem is. The signal strength showing E is perfectly normal. It means the phone is connected to the Edge network instead of the 3G network. It is perfectly normal for the phone to hop between the two

I have a similar issue with this ROM as well. As soon as i hang up a call, the data automatically starts ( E on the signal bar with arrows going back and forth) Anybody else having the same issue or what can i do to prevent auto data start since I don't have a data plan on my phone?

I'm talking about the little e  Where I live I switch between 3g and edge all the time.  The phone seems to automatically turn on the data connection and I only use the internet on this phone with wifi.

Google a program called Modaco NoData.  This should turn your data connection off.  Either that, or you could edit your proxy settings...but that would generate pop-up error messages.

I just called HTC, Tech told they haven't posted an officia rom yet. It will be posted this afternoon, may be that's why we are having the issue with Data Autostart after phone call.

I doubt there will be any changes in the ROM. I think they just had technical difficulties posting it.

What problem is there with ending calls?

whenever you end a call (via the onscreen button or the actual button on the phone) it automatically connects to the data network.  Never has done this before and im sure it will eat battery, not to mention I dont pay for the data plan.

When you end a call the little tower next to the signal strengh turns to an e as if you are starting a data connection. Yesterday the first time it happened after I did the rom upgrade I had to do a battery pull to get it to change back.  Now though when you end a call it changes and you can turn it off by going into connection settings.

I am connected all the time to the data network so I guess this is why I havent seen any difference

HTC is a dream to work with.  I am stil on the phone with them.  They had me do a hard reset and the problem still exists.  So they are escalating it as I type this.  It's the first report they have had with this problem.  The escalation team has it and are going to let me know as soon as they have a fix.  I can't beleive haow easy tey are to work with compared to Samsung just typing that name makes me sick after all the epix headaches

I am with you on that one. I moved from the Epix to Fuze. I called HTC for support on a TF3D issue when the music playerdidnt recognize my sd card. They solved my issue within 10 minutes.

One thing that I noticed in the new ROM that was fixed is that the phone finally maintains a CONSTANT bluetooth connection with my Motrola headset, where previously it wouldnt

I dont know where HTC is fixing the data connect issue, but I just confirmed that it does not happen with the windows mobile dialpad.  So it appears the issue is within the HTC dialpad itself...So that is one possible "quick fix" but with the WM dialpad you cant adjust in-call volume which is a problem.

No idea if it is related to the update or not, but after completing it, everything was fine. Reloaded everything back on, and it was fine. Now today, after a few hours, I'm getting the "screen burn" on the bottom portion of my screen. Yeehaw. Hope its going to be a quick fix, if not, get to go visit the store later. Big "whoopie" there....

Found a related thread about something like this. Kind of interesting. First thing is, at the "splash" screens as it turns on, its fine. This issue is only related to WM as it loads, seems to "remember" these images that need to be refreshed. Odd to say the least. Now then, I removed my battery for about 5 minutes, and all is well. In case anyone else finds this, it does seem to be a quick fix, but I hope it does not become something persistant in resurfacing over and over.
