Maybe I didn't explain writing code correctly. From what I read in article interview, which you can Google, HTC ONE X JELLY BEAN UPDATE AT&T, the engineer explained it was something that they have never done b4, when asked if HTC had plans to design software going forward like this, his response "Never again" they have taken to much blow back from customers as well as writers, like himself, asking, What's the hold up. I'm not a software engineer, but didn't sound like run of the mill of how software is written, rather a technique Apple use's, but Apple has only one phone (please don't say what about Iphone 3-5,lol,) so they can do that and send it out over 1 updating method ITunes, & don't use AT&T OTA, or have a million variants of there phones 2 test with different bloatware. For example, my son has Iphone5, you wouldn't know it was on AT&T unless you go into settings. Anyways, lol, this was the route HTC was trying to take with HOX.
I searched and don't see the article from which you are getting that information.

Regardless of what the excuse is, this is total ***
There are older end of life phones that have been getting the JellyBean Update... Mean, the GS2 is slotted to get it? Seriously? What a load of crap. And now today I read that they have pushed it to the Rugby Pro?!
Get ***r AT&T, because this is absolutely sad.
If this is how Updates are going to be rolled out, I feel like I am either being forced to Flash a Custom Rom or go back to Sprint. I switched because I was told AT&T Offered the latest and greatest, but obviously that was incorrect, this is just plain pathetic.

If you feel that strongly about the issue, I would just go this route (unlock bootloader and flash a custom ROM). Its not that hard, and its liberating to use the phone how you like and not be subjected to AT&T's bloatware. I rooted the phone 2 days after I got it.

The Jellybean update for AT&T's GS3 was officially available via Samsung's Kies software since December 4.

You are correct sir.. Ironicly I'm always the one yelling at people to fact check.. I do wonder now if since the GS3 and the 1X got updated at the same time on Rogers if this is a sign of things to come

I completely agree, I pay for a phone from att, get a phone with ATT tag on it, pay my bills on time, never exceed data or calls than 20% of what i use and still pay a complete amount never complain about it. Though being such a valued customer i never receive updates from ATT for the premium phones, get bootloaders, all kinda restrictions... And then after 5 months they release an awesome updated phone... really? I dont know wheather i will stick to HTC or not in future but ATT surely wont be my choice after the contract expires... as if i continue using their contract i am definetly sure they will treat me as shi'p' again...

I just wrote again to support:
I am giving notice that after 8 years I will be leaving AT&T for another provider due to horrible customer service, poor products, poor product support.
I am now on my 3rd HTC One X in a little over 90 days and stuck with a defective phone for the life of my contract. The HTC One X isn't going to be upgraded anytime in the near future according to your support although the upgraded OS clears up some of the problems I'm experiencing.
I was contacted by support several times in December and when I call back the number they leave on my voicemail the message says you're closed for the day and to call within the business hours which are well within the time I am calling.
My conclusion can only be you are unwilling or unable to make this a good product and are avoiding any viable fix. The last agent I talked to on the phone saw the trouble I was having and wrote up instructions and asked me to go to the warranty location near my home. I went and they said they couldn't replace the phone I had nor could they take the replacement I received that was defective out of the box.
Once again you're either unable to help or unwilling to help or both.
This puts me in a situation where I have a poorly working phone supplied by a company unwilling to help and I have to seek service by another provider in order to meet a fairly simple service level.

I am also one of you that everyday is looking in internet if finally the HTC One X will receive the upgrade to jelly bean, but I am very happy of this phone and I don't have any other problem using it. Regarding AT&T is actually very hard to keep staying with them too (I am an old customer of Cingular) because of their poor customer relations and satisfation, but I am telling you when I go out and have to download something to my LTE phone and see that in my area the speednet test shows 30M down and 25M up ... fast and smooth ... sorry I don't care about Jelly Beans, customer relations etc ... just keep staying with them for another 10 years ![]()

Just checked. No update today. The online tech sites reported late December early January. I assume they are insiders with info. Obviously, they do not know anything more than we do. They just create false hope.

For those who say the update is no big deal:

I have a htc one x and a nexus 7. There is no big difference between ics and jellybean. When I first got the nexus it was much smoother, but after the most recent update it's now laggy just like my phone.
They also both have that special android feature where the phone or tablet just randomly crashes and reboots. In 3 years with a iphone and 18 months with a windows phone that never ever happened. Sure apps would crash, but they never brought down the whole os.
on the one hand i love the flexibility and power of android, but on the other hand it can be a buggy piece of crap

I don't need a video to tell me JB is no big deal, since I already had the Asia JB ROM flashed to my bootloader unlocked One X. I was unimpressed and went back to ICS.
I watched the video anyway, and its really rather unimpressive. Actually kinda highlights the fact that JB is not that big a difference, with no huge game-changing differences.
Yes, JB is a bit smoother. But the difference is not earth shattering. The guy spends a lot of the video flicking the home screen panels back and forth endlessly, which is pointless. The homescreens flick back and forth plenty fast enough in ICS. And the infinite homescreen scrolling (keeps going in a loop instead of stopping at the right or left most panel) is actually annoying IMO, and I prefer it to stop at either side.
I don't have as many apps at the guy who made the video (45 user installed apps, and bloatware is removed) so that may be part of it. But for me, the app tray does not lag at all on ICS, and is very fast.
Battery life seems improved for many people on JB (for those that have tried it on Telstra, Rogers, and custom ROMs). But again, its not a huge difference, and I was already getting 2 days of battery life on the later version stock ICS ROMs (any firmware version 2.2X or later).
Google Now is probably the only compelling reason to update, for those that want to try it. But you could already install Now on ICS, if you are bootloader unlocked/rooted.

If you have a source for this "information" please link it. I follow the One X quite closely, and have heard no such news. I don't think its correct.

"Everyone else" does not have JB. The dual core LTE version of the One X has been released in at least 7 countries/carriers. Only 3 (Asia, Telstra, Rogers) have gotten the JB update so far.

Different companies with different testing personnel and standards. AT&T has always taken a long time to test and approve smartphone firmware. Also, AT&T firmware for the One X in the past has had more security measures than the Rogers (and I expect JB to be no different): no official bootloader unlock, and they will probably instruct HTC to patch the existing root exploit. Rogers enforces none of these things.
