After the upgrade my internet on my Nitro stops working (4G). I will browse for a little bit, but then suddenly my 4G internet will stop working. Phone calls still work, but no applications can get to the internet. I can't get internet again until I switch to Airplane mode and back, thus forcing a reconnect. Again after a few minutes the internet stops working. Anyone else had a similar problem after upgrading?

Dear sir,
Could you please provide the following information?
Where you are located?
Your device is attached to LTE network or 3G network?
Which apps have you tried to use? (Browser and other apps).
How often this issue happens?
Could you please check the default APN name? (Settings --> Wireless & network settings --> Mobile networks --> Access Point Names)
Thanks for your support in advance.

Users on this thread, you are not alone.
To whom it may concern at AT&T:
On 4/13/2012 I received an unsolicited FOTA push of LG firmware version LG-P930-V10J-FEB-26-2012 to my Nitro P930. This was right in the middle of my workday and immediately rendered my phone useless for internet connectivity, which is essential to my productivity. From that time until this writing I have completely lost internet connectivity (grey bars, just like many of you have reported nationwide). This has really put a major inconvenience to being able to work productively.
Steps that I, and I am are that other users, have taken:
1) Fully rebooted the phone numerous times (battery out 15 seconds).
2) Contacted AT&T support twice (in both cases they logically referred me back to LG, as it was the unsolicited firmware push of LG-P930-V10J-FEB-26-2012 to the Nitro that manifested the problem of lost internet connectivity).
3) Visited my local AT&T store and did a SIM replacement (logically, no success with this either, as it was the unsolicited firmware push of LG-P930-V10J-FEB-26-2012 to the Nitro that manifested the problem of lost internet connectivity)
4) Attempted to try to "pull" the FOTA, but the phone will not allow it (there is a timer that locks you out to do this)
.
5) Did an online LG support text chat with "Ginno" who advised that I should try to "pull" the FOTA in 24 hours when the timer concludes and permits me to. Unbelievable that there isn't any other suggested fix.
6) Spoke with LG phone support who had me check and confirm that my APN settings were correct and that this was not a contributing factor. LG phone support doubts the FOTA "pull" will work anyway because we would just get LG-P930-V10J-FEB-26-2012 again. And doubtful that a buggy code fix would come that quick.
7) Posted similar comments to these on the thread at http://support.lgforum.com/lg/topics/nitro_update_
8) On the advice of the LG Product Thread Moderator, returned to my local AT&T store to have a "Master Reset" done on the phone. Did not solve internet connectivity problem, but does permit further data charges as it guarantees that apps must be reloaded (if they ever can). Nice.
9) Advised by LG Support Product Thread Moderator that AT&T Labs did "sign off" on the FOTA firmware push of LG-P930-V10J-FEB-26-2012.
10) Advised by LG Support Product Thread Moderator that a firmware "rollback" cannot be pushed.
11) Advised by AT&T Handset Support 800-801-1101 that this issue is documented in an "escalated" state, but no solution is available at this time. Also, was advised that a phone replacement may not be an appropriate solution. Rationale: You receive the new phone, turn it on, and the FOTA push of LG-P930-V10J-FEB-26-2012 immediately disconnects your internet (again). That will not make your day.
I feel that this unsolicited push of firmware code that apparently was not properly tested beforehand has rendered many user's Nitros (in light of the comments above, and those on the LG Support Thread, that indicate that other users are similarly affected ) useless for internet and I am extremely inconvenienced and upset about the lack of a forthcoming solution.
I have a property management/real estate business that requires heavy internet use in the field (date/time/GPS stamped photo uploads, GPS nav, internet research). It has been "on hold" since 4/13/2012 and -- while I've found a temporary workaround -- I am unable to support my customers in the timely manner that they were accustomed to. This needs to be resolved, soon. Please collaborate with LG to resolve.
Also, because of this problem, keep in mind that your product users are now paying internet data service that they cannot access. Thank you for your prompt attention to Nitros that are offline.

Update: Directed by local store to go an AT&T Warranty Service Center this afternoon. Was helped by a lady named "Chelsea". She removed the SIM from my Nitro and put into a demo-but-identical Nitro (running the same firmware) and she was able to get internet with that unit. Then, she replaced the SIM back into my Nitro and internet connectivity was temporarily restored. We thought we had the problem resolved, but I will need to return to the Service Center to update her that internet connectivity was lost again about an hour and half after leaving the center. After leaving the store, I used GPS nav and then exited the app upon arriving at destination. That is when connectivity was lost (back to grey bars). I rebooted the phone and connectivity was restored, but every time I exit any internet app after using it, the internet connectivity is lost until a reboot. The saga continues...
Hope this new info helps in getting closer to a solution.

Similar problem since the FOTA upgrade on April 13, 2012. Location: Cleveland, OH. Phone: LG Nitro.. Android Version: 2.3.5 Baseband: P930-MDM9200B. Software Version: V10J-Feb 26 2012. FOTA Upgrade: 4/13/2012
Actions to date:
1. SIM Card replaced (no change in internet/data connectivity within 4g network - still not working)
2. Contacted ATT Service. According to service tech (Gabriela) LG just sent over updates on May 1st to ATT. Gabriela then pushed the upgrades through my SMS.6 total updates. Updates were then installed. Network access worked for 1 hour a nd then turned off again. Result: No change from original issue.
3. Next step - Contacting ATT Service Center for a new (and different) phone

Still struggling with why a foced ATT FOTA upgrade sent over the ATT network that compromizes the functionality of the phone is now a customer problem and expense to resolve.
Next step: Calling credit card company to withold payment on defective software/hardware device purchased from ATT.

I am experiencing the same problems. I am in southeast Michigan. Problem only started after the FOTA update. Internet services keeps dropping out and usually a reboot is needed to get it to come back.

I live in the Denver area and have experience the same issue. I purchased the phone today and before I left the store I was prompted to download the new firmware and now the only way I can get a data connection is to toggle airplane mode on and off. The data connection will then work for a few seconds or maybe up to a few minutes.

The LG Nitro HD phone still fails to consistently connect to the cellular netowrk for data access. No problems with voice communication or SMS.
Update: Credit card company dispute form has been completed and I am hoping for a resolution. I have been unsuccessful with AT&T technical support. The solution is software related - simply replacing the phone with the same phone (as AT&T tech support has offered) does not resolve the problem.
Question: Has any one returned their phone to AT&T for a replacement phone (different brand) after the 30 day warranty period?

Having the same issues on all three of my LG Nitro phones in Aurora, CO. Have tried the master reset, new sim card and service center checking the APN. Nothing works to fix the issue. The phones worked great with no issue before the firmware update. AT & T wants to blame LG and LG wants to blame AT & T. No one wants to take blame or try to fix the problem.

I had the same thing happen to me after the update also. I work in St. Louis, where I can get 4G LTE. The phone works great when I can get that service. Bad thing for me is that I live over 30 miles away, where I can only get 3G or regular 4G. the phone internet completely stops working for me once I leave the LTE area. Maybe some people arent noticing their phone has a problem if they are always staying in a 4G LTE area. I have only had my phone 5 days. I will give a few more days to see what can be fixed, then it is going back to AT&T.

Im in Cleveland. Its good to see that I am not alone in my problem. I love the phone but Im getting sick to death of this problem. It didnt work all last week. I spent an hour on the phone with customer service. Their solution: we can send you a refurbished phone. Total garbage. I have spent over three hours talking with customer service made 5 trips to the store, had the phone replaced and still it does not work right. It didnt work all last weekend, then it worked great M-W this week but since yesterday it hasnt worked right. I am going to the AT&T store today and am going to try and get a new phone but different brand. I hope they dont give me any crap. Unless LG fixes the problem the phone is a bust.

This is the first smart phone i've owned, i got it 5 days ago and have not been able to use the internet at all after the update. I will be returning it and getting something different (not LG) if its not fixed before the 30 days are up. I hope they fix it,i love the screen and HD, but with no internet i dont have much use for it.

i think i fixed this error. since most of us dont have access to LTE, i went ahead and created and used the APN for the htc inspire 4g. this can be done by going to settings> wireless & mobile> mobile network> access point names, then press the menu button and go to the new apn setting. heres the apn i used:
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
Username:WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32
mms protocol: wap 2.0
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410
APN Type: leave blank

Yes I have also had this issue since upgrade. I live in Springfield MO. I am very upset and att tech's (yes Plural, I called many times) did nothing to resolve problem. I am going on a trip and planned on using gps navigation and now that is a no go....I cannot send or receive pictures by text message nor use visual voicemail, very dissappointing....I will try the solution above and hope it works in my case.

What a nightmare...wife is on the phone with ATT who escalated to LG...waiting:
Saw that the LG Nitro HD's had come down significantly in price so I figured best time to upgrade us. Boy was I wrong.
Bought 2 new phones 5/15 for my wife and I. Mine required the firmware update which I did immediately in the store. Wife's was already on the V10j-Feb2012 version. Within hours, both phones were experiencing data connectivity problems. I figured, ok let's exchange one and see what happens. They exchanged her and she had a "2011" firmware and things were working fabulously. For S&G's, I made her update it to verify that the upgrade caused the problem. She did so and right back to square one with data connectivity.
Store associate figured it had to do with our phones having 3G SIM cards and not 4G. (There's a difference?) So he swapped mine out for a 4G and we opted to leave the wife's for comparison. Same data loss results.
Today we swapped out for two brand new units with the V10J firmware direct from the factory again hoping it was a fluke. Problem persists.
AT&T will not see a cent from me until this is properly resolved because I refuse to pay for a service I cannot properly utilize.

Just another update:
Boxes labeled "MAY65030206(1.0)HM" MAY NOT WORK FROM THE FACTORY. I highly doubt that 6 phones that have received this particular firmware all would fail to keep a data connection. AT&T needs to do some more quality control on this, and at the very least, issue a recall and make the update non-mandatory.

Same problem in Southeast Michigan. ATT is sending me a refurb, I assume that I will have the same problem with this replacement. I just bought this phone 3 months ago and it worked fine until the FOTA upgrade. This needs to be fixed asap. LG says its a network issue on AT&T's side but I don't believe that, seems to be firmware related.

I've had the same problem, no 4G connectivity since I purchased the LG Nitro. After about two weeks of working with ATT Wireless Case Management I found out the possible reason for no 4G connectivity.
According to the tech 4G has not been deployed in my area (south Denver Metro Area) the schedule for deployment is Sept 19, 2012. One piece of information, I was in the Portland area over the weekend and had no problems connecting with the 4G network.
My suggestion for those having connection problems is to call ATT Wireless and ask if 4G is deployed fully in your area. If it is you should not have a problem, if not ask what the deployment date is and test on or after the deployment date.

Yep, same issues, different device.
It is disheartening to see that At&T has still not resolved this issue after 3 months. It is also frustrating to hear them say, "If this was an issue with our network, we would be getting hundreds of complaint right now. Therefore, this is an isolated issue to just your device and there is nothing at&t can do to fix it."

The Ice Cream Sandwich update that became available yesterday completely resolves the issue with lost data connection. Just go to WWW.lg.com/us/NitroHD-Upgrade to download and install on your phone. You need to do the update on a windows PC, Love my phone again. (This is an official release from LG, not a leak).

I am resurrecting this from the dead, as I am having data issues after upgrading to ICS.
Could you please provide the following information?
Where you are located? Dallas, TX
Your device is attached to LTE network or 3G network? LTE
Which apps have you tried to use? (Browser and other apps). TWC, built in browser, SMS, MMS
How often this issue happens? Daily
Could you please check the default APN name? (Settings --> Wireless & network settings --> Mobile networks --> Access Point Names)
AT&T PTA
There are periods going from 30 minutes to a couple hours where I have zero data on my phone. Rebooting it or turning data on/off does not help. This happens at different times of the day, and I am on LTE every time it happens.
This did not happen before I upgraded to ICS. I did not experience the same issues as the folks above me with the FOTA upgrade. If I need to start a new thread, please tell me and I will do so.
