if you tilt your phone down as if looking at it in front if yourself the screen doesn't light up showing the "End Call" touch button?? Always works for me..
Correct, this does not work consistently. Sometimes it's fine. Sometimes it flashes on for a split second, then goes off and there is now reliable way to get it back on.

That stinks.. I only had it happen to me once but I keep raising and lowering it and it eventually popped on.. I do agree the gyr they use is a bit buggy, sometimes it sticks in horizontal view and I have to raise and lower it a couple times to get it back to portrait view..
I'm not convinced I will keep this phone once I decide WP7 is for me(the update if as good as I'm expecting will sway me a lot) but if I do decide to stay with WP7 I'm definitely going to go bigger along the lines of the Dell Venue(larger brighter screen and a vertical slide out qwerty keyboard, the Dell is way too buggy right now but it is a brand new device, it will most definitely improve)..

pmt1209,
I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one experiencing this! :-)
Moreover, I too am having issues whereby the horizontal and portrait view "sticks" sometimes. I tried to explain this when I took the phone into the store, but of course the problem would not replicate when I was there at the store. The AT&T rep simply kept repeating that the WP7 does not support horizontal view in all applications. Couldn't' quite get him to understand that I realized that.
Anyway, I may take one more trip to the store. I really want to keep this phone. Even with some of the phone and OS's minor quirks, it's the best smartphone that I have ever owned.

I've had my Quantum for a few weeks now and there are a few things that I cannot figure out.
1) Re: text messaging - is there no way to forward a text or to re-send it (without re-typing the whole message)
2) IE - every time I open internet explorer it opens to whatever page I visited last - is there a way to close it or to set a home page?
I am used to The Blackberry (Pearl and Bold) and I am wondering if the Quantum does not have some of these capabilities or if I am missing something!

1. Tap and hold the message you want to forward. A menu will appear, giving you the option to delete or forward that message.
2. As far as I know, it's not possible to set a homepage with IE. However, remember that you can pin websites to your Start screen. So in IE, pull up the site you want to be your homepage, then pin it to your Start screen. In the future, launch IE using that website's tile on your start screen and your favorite page will come right up.

Does anyone know how to send video messages ?? I can't figure it out!!! Can anyone help me please ????
I don't think this is currently possible with Windows Phone 7 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). The phone is very limited at the moment in terms of what you can do with video. You can record it, synch it with your computer, and delete it--I think that's about all. You can't upload it to Facebook or SkyDrive or anything like that, and you can't send it as an attachment to an mms message (although, interestingly, WP7 can apparently RECEIVE video messages).

I am sure that this has been covered. We got my husband the Quantum and he really likes it. BUT it seems his one major problem is the font. Is there a way to increase the font. Secondary to the font is The camera button is an issue but there is nothing we can do about that and ringtones. He would like to have different ringtones such as favorite song clips and such but it does not appear that it is allowed. Hard to believe that you can not upload personal ringtones.
He is happy with the keyboard and tells me that it is easier to use then my Blackberry Torch ( something I find hard to believe) But he likes it. The large screen is impressive and we have had no major glitches.
Any idea if they are going to fix any of these issues?

I have had the phone for ~3 months, and so far, it's great. The only issue I've had with it is no Flash support. That surprised me quite a bit, but other than that, it's awesome.

I just got this phone yesterday and it's driving me crazy. This is my first touch phone and maybe I'm just too old to work it! Very, very confusing. Quickstart has almost nothing in it and the online tutorial has not much more. I have been trying for a couple of hours now to find out how to upload pictures from my computer to the phone using the data cable that came with it and can find no answers at all...just being run around in circles with topics that have nothing to do with my question. I want my old phone back...had customized ringtones that I recorded and many pictures uploaded from my computer. So far I have nothing good to say about this very expensive phone.

yea that is what my concern is. I have had this phone since the first of the year 2011. I find it hard to belive they would produce a phone with video recording that cannot be uploaded to your PC or sent via text message. Whats the point of recording a video if i cant share it with family and frinds across the nation, ( It's not like im going to send my phone to let them watch it and then return it to me). I know you can share pictures WHY NOT VIDEOS. I hope the next update will fix this problem along with my other concernes about the phone that seem to be a problem across the board with WP7 phone users. Not being able to download ringtones, or able to turn off the camara shutter sounds. Any suggestions or problem solvers would be greatly aprreciated. Thanks

Yeah, I have been similarly disappointed by the inability to text or easily share videos.
I will say, however, that I bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy last October and the bugs, quirks, instability, and lesser user friendliness have me wishing that I had waited and got her a Windows 7 Phone as well.

On the first question. You hold your finger on the text msg you want to foward and it should pop up a "delete" or "foward," then press foward and put in who you want to send it to and then press send it should work. On the 2nd question i dont think their is a way to set a home page but you can set the page you want in the favorites which is the little stars at the bottom of the screen which makes it easier that typing in the web adress every time. Also when your done using internet explorer there are 3 icons at the bottom of the screen when on the internet screen. Hit the one on the far right that looks like 2 pieces of paper which are the (TABS)and you can close the page or pages you are viewing so that when you get on it next time it will be an empty screen.

I just recently purchased the LG Quantum and I love it so far. I only have one issue... I accidentally took a picture of something, and I went to delete it and accidentally uploaded it to Skydrive instead. Now I'm not sure how to delete it from Skydrive or my phone. Please help! ![]()

you probably figured it out already. you need to login into your windows live account at a PC to delete the picture from skydrive. You should be able to remove it from the phone and Zune as well.

- You have probably found this already but, if you go into setting and scroll down all the way, there is a section "Play a sound for" and you can unclick Camera Shutter.

Initial impressions... Overall, I'm pleased. I previously used a Tilt 2 phone, which had a lovely UI but was sluggish and buggy even after installing the latest software. The Quantum just plain works--it's fast and reliable. I had previously read a few reviews talking about slow load times for WP7 apps, but have concluded that that must be phone-specific because apps pop right up on my Quantum.
I haven't tried expanding its memory. Heck, I haven't yet figured out how to manage the memory that's built in. I have no clue how to see how much of it has been used and is free.

One beef I have is that it's not possible to turn off the shutter sound on the camera. This isn't a limitation of WP7; this is how LG designed the phone. I'd LOVE a hack for this. There are times (say, for example, a wedding) when you'd like to be able to snap a picture without the phone making noise.
Also, I'm having some trouble with battery life sucking. Last night I fully-charged my phone, and this morning--maybe 10 hours later--the battery was less than half-charged. My phone wasn't in use during that period; WiFi and Bluetooth were off, and the screen was turned off. I'm doing some experimenting to see if it's worse when e-mail push from Exchange is enabled.

Sorry, I left out one step. When you go to "Settings" you have to go to Ringtones and Sounds.
