I called AT&T for an issue. While I was on the phone I asked when the GB update would be coming out. He couldn't find an answer so his manager told him to transfer me to LG. He did. The LG rep told me that Gingerbread will not be pushed out to the Thrill/P925 because it will not handle the 3D portion of the phone. He said Ice Cream "should" be able to handle it when it comes out.
I'm going back to the store where I bought the phone and return it.

I have this phone and am waiting for the promised 2.3 update. I went at an AT&T authorized retail store in Lebanon, TN. The LG Thrill 3D is being advertised that it has the Gingerbread 2.3 O/S. So I called AT&T Customer Service to see if AT&T or LG is releasing the update. I was told there is no update. I informed her if what I seen at the store and she called LG with me on the line. LG representative stated that you can't get the LG Thrill 3D with the Gingerbread 2.3 O/S on it. When I said that is how it is being advertised in the AT&T store here in Lebanon, neither AT&T or LG representative had anything to say. I asked isn't that false and misleading advertisement and they both stayed quiet. What's the deal with this phone!!! I feel we have been mislead and ripped off by AT&T and LG. Can they legally advertise false information? And I do have pictures and video of the phone being displayed advertising the Gingerbread 2.3 O/S on it

Well, it would seem to me that since my wife & I have had the LG Thrill 4G phone with Android 2.2.2 on it for 6 months now, I feel pretty confident that AT&T is not going to provide any update to the next Android operating system. Maybe the next one, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one, either. AT&T got us. I have noticed that they haven't sold a lot of these phones, & there must be some background problems that they aren't letting us, or anyone else know about. Funny how loud the silence can be some times. So, at this point, as far as I'm concerned, I'm resigning myself to the fact that I will probably have to stick with this Android 2.2.2 operating system until I change out the phone again, some day. AAAARRRRRGGGHH.

so... i trolled through their site and cannot find a way to email them. i hate the att site. it took me an hour to log in because the password i tried first wouldnt work and eventually i tried to reset the password. it looked like it worked but actually didnt, and eventually i tried the first one, and it worked! i couldnt reset the password, and this is after i had already put the CORRECT one in. then, i went through a loop of not understanding why the stupid "email us" link (by the way, their sites take so long to open its ridiculous. i have pc games stream fine, but their site lags so much in comparison) took me somewhere i couldnt find an email option in, and eventually i gave up and came here... im seriously displeased and dissatisfied with the site and the all around setup of the customer care. a working email with a 24 hour calling setup (which it CLAIMS to have, if i understand correctly, although i tried and it said it was closed) and maybe an overhaul of the whole site, speeding things up. you dont need a bunch of popup overlays. just a simple setup thats dial-up friendly, and especially att mobile network friendly. im in Houston, and the 3G IS FASTER THAN THE 4G!!! a samsung galaxy s captivate with 3g loads faster, with more reliable network than my old inspire 4g and my new xperia play 4g! plus it can use a 4g sim card!

Not trying to span by posting in multiple threads but this is such a big deal with this phone I want to help everyone that has it and wants it to be better -
I can report I did it myself. You can't get it via over-the-air or wifi "Software Update" option, you need to download LG Mobile Support Tool, and *THIS IS KEY* (LG site doesn't tell you this and I figured it out after a couple of failed tries), enable USB debugging. Using the LG software, and not enabling USB storage when plugging the phone into the PC I got 2.3.5 update to download (400+ MB) and install. I can also say I enjoy the improvements to the UI (speed AND icons), the battery life, the Video editor and am stoked on the flash working with the 3D camera now. I've been waiting for this update since November and am glad they finally got it done. Better late than never.
BTW, 1st time post - I was just so stoked about actually installing the update I had to let people in this thread know and offer help if they need it. All the best.
