But, of course, AT&T and Apple are "best friends", so the obvious preference of the phone that's more important to AT&T to debut is the iPhone 5. I guess we'll just wait and see how it all plays out - and which phone flies more off the shelves. Can't forget that.

How do we know it's coming? Did you hear from someone, maybe a store rep, or read it on a blog that it's coming? 'Cause I've done that all summer long (remember the big May 24 announcement with Samsung?). How do you know that it's not a Black Friday launch? Cyber Monday? Just in time for Christmas? Valentine's day love?
AT&T brought in millions of customers with the iPhone. It was there and real. Now Sprint has the phone I want. After months of waiting I can go into a Sprint store and touch it. hold it. caress it. ('k, maybe that went over the line a little AT&T gives me a picture with "Coming Soon". "Sign up for email updates about the Galaxy SII!" Anyone get any updates?
Are the services that different between AT&T and Sprint? I honestly don't know. I haven't looked at it before now. Sprint gets higher marks from the critics. Why wouldn't I want to move over? I don't get roll over minutes. And most of my family is on AT&T. But I get more minutes on Sprint and unlimited data for a lower price. And free mobile-to-mobile on any network. So let me ask you: why would I want to stay?
If we knew that the phone was not coming, there wouldn't be any rumors or speculation about the phone. Nor would AT&T announce it, "Coming Soon", as you said that the website reads.

If some stores do not have it, then maybe the phones are getting shipped to different areas at different times. The only way we'll know is if someone reports they have one in their hands that they retrieved from an AT&T store or other authorized retailer.
And you want to stay because you are a loyal customer.

Of course it's coming! It's been coming since April when it was released in Europe. My point is that the rumors have been saying that it's coming to the US for 5 months now. And every failed rumor gave way to another rumor. The problem is that there is no release date. Only more rumors. So if I say it's coming out on Christmas day I have as much of a chance at being right as you do saying September 18.
I hope it IS released on September 18. I have no problem staying with AT&T. I would stay if I knew a release date was soon. If I knew it was going to be released September 25th I'd wait. I'd probably wait if I knew it was going to be Oct. 2. But nobody knows.
As for loyalty, corporations don't believe in being loyal to the customer so why would the customer want to be loyal to the corporation? That's why there's a difference in an "upgrade" price and a "new customer" price.

You asked the initial question, "How do we know it's coming?" So I gave you an answer. Those given reasons must have contributed to your answer because now you're saying, "Of course it's coming!"
The only reason I replied to your post was because you asked questions which I felt the need to answer. Being the kind of person that doesn't like to leave one hanging, I replied with my answers. If you do not agree, that's fine. I don't want to argue about this anymore.
