Just posted by DG in the captivate section. The FCC just sent through ANOTHER ATT phone, the i727 SGS2 with LTE. Looks like the i727 passed FCC 2 weeks ago on Sept. 1st. I am SO CONFUSED...

In my opinion, the Chief Marketing Officer should get fired from AT&T.  I have a feeling they're going to release the iPhone 5 before this phone, thus driving up iPhone 5 sales.  Samsung should not sit lightly with this one.

Well, I see the Expeira, the ATT Impulse 4G, but alas no GSII.

However, I did notice that the Impulse is now $99.99 when it was $199.99 on Friday.

Wishful thinking says it's coming real soon, just not today.

I bet it will come out October 1st... becuase that leaves one more weekend for AT&T to LOL at all their customers who really want the Galaxy S2. Rumors will spread about this weekend so just assume they are rumors and don't fall subject to AT&Ts cruelty.

Save yourself a trip to the AT&T store cause the galaxy s2 is not there. The only response I got from the employee was that it was supposed to be here today and we don't know what happened or when it will be out. Hey AT@T and Apple!  Go {Please keep it courteous and do not evade the word filter}!  You just lost a 10 year customer.  Your marketing tactics suck and I'm sure many people don't appreciate the games.

I just checked Target's cellular webiste.. They advertise the "Impulse 4g" as "new", however the display photo is not of what it should be..  The impulse does not look like that phone.. maybe it's a placeholder? I guess we shouldn't hold our breath.

I really thought AT&T would at least give us a date before the epic launched on Sprint. I think if enough people bail on AT&T the date will move up.

The screen size is the only thing keeping me with AT&T. Oh well, I hope I like the screen on the epic so I can end this waiting.

So far, At&t has been willing to accomodate me when I've had an issue over the last 12 years as a customer. This phone is the first that I've actually paid attention to and watched the release date on. It's extremely frustrating to find that though they are fully aware that there have been several different sites and sources claiming a September 18th release, they haven't corrected these claims by offering the real, firm release. I was even told by 2 At&t employees in the last WEEK, one in an AT&T store and one in their customer retention department, that today would be the release date. I'm hoping the reason for the "miscommunication" is a very good one because I would consider this a deal breaker.

I agree with you OGIMAA.  Even if someone  made up the Sept 18th date , AT&T should have made an anouncement or post that said that that date is not correct.

I've had nothing but problems with ATT. Why are you guys so sketchy when it comes to your customers? Verizon might not be getting this phone, but they will always always be better then you in every possible way. I'm going to be making the switch soon. Especially since the iPhone (paired with your network) has been giving me troubles from the beginning. We'll see how soon the S2 phone comes out, or else I'll switch to Verizon and wait for the new Nexus (which will be given a proper release date unlike what you people are doing).

Get your stuff together and act a little more professional. What is the matter with this company?

When you say "The coming weeks" that means no more than 3 weeks in my book. If it comes out on Oct 2nd that would be a month. See 7 days = a week and 4 weeks = a month. How can you make us wait when you know how long we've all been waiting for this phone. I would love to see how many customer left you for Sprint. Sprints version is smaller than the Infuse so I might just grab it.

No signs of the GS2 in Michigan.  I called 3 corporate stores.  It is true that the Infuse4G price point was lowered to $99.  I'm almost out of patience.

I think ive figured out why the phone is NOT out today and why AT&T is not announcing ANY information about the phone.... It's coming out on December 1st of this year.  Yes that's right, December 1st, NOT September, NOT Q3, but 2 1/2 months from today.

Here are my reasons for assuming this:

Ive learned that AT&T phones have trended release dates on Sundays, December 1st is a thursday and the 4th is a Sunday.  All of Samsung's promotional info about the phone seems to take place on Thursday/Fridays giving carriers a chance to set up for the weekend updates. If you take a look at the Samsung webpage for the phone (http://www.samsung.com/us/microsite/galaxysII/) you will see the phone design that is clearly AT&T's model with a timestamp: 10:10AM Dec. 1st.

If you recall Sprint did the exact samething with their phone on the promotional video some of you may have seen.  At the end of the video if you look close enough you see the date of Sept. 9th at 10:10 AM.  That weekend was a week before release and the phone went up on their website and was advertised for with a release date and price.  So ACTUALLY the phone may not come out until the 11th of December. 

Now I know that this is NOT 100% set in stone, but look at how much info the world has received about this phone for AT&T so far... None, zip, nada, zilch, zero... Ive messed around with computers and technology for years and if there is 1 thing I know for certain, it's that there is NO ONE in this business who can hide a release date on anything without it leaking. 

AT&T isnt giving a date or time because the CEO's have simply not told anyone since they arent releasing until later this year.  I suggest dropping AT&T if you want a good phone and going to Verizon, although the Droid Bionic will run you $300.  The S2 at Sprint wont be as good because its the same pixel ratio on a larger screen, making for worse appearance.  Or we can all do what AT&T wants and get the iPhone since they clearly favor that over ANY other manufacturer...

ATT is going to release the google nexus prime on thanksgiving... why would they then release an older, inferior phone, a week later from what is essential the updated galaxy s2?

I'm going to my ATT store now.  Not for the SGS2 but to find out what my buy out will cost.  I think my 2 year contract ends this Dec.  I already checked at Best Buy this morning and can save about 30 a month getting my same unlimited unlimited plan with Sprint.  Been with ATT for 18 years.   I will only wait a day or two for ATT to give some kind of info or I will be gone.  Might even look at Verizon also.  Its not just about the SGS2 anymore...its about the lack of respect to the customers that pay their salaries.  If ATT cared one bit about all of us leaving they would have a customer service representative on this blog trying to give us some information.   And that coming soon page that you enter your email address to get info....  what a joke!  Not one email from it!
