Samsung Galaxy S2 release date please!!!

What I hate about this whole sitch is that I've called 3 stores today.. 2 in my town and one in NYC. One of the two near me said "Yeah I think it might've come out but we don't have it in stock. Maybe they have it in the corporate store down the block or something." Btw.. I had called the corporate store before I'd called this store and I already knew that they "did not have them in stock".  The city store I called told me flat out that it was not released today and that it probably won't be out for a while. Oh AT&T.. if you ONLY KNEW how much I hate you right now... Although there was one girl that answered my 611 call about the phone and she stayed on the phone with me for what felt like forever trying her darndest to find out when the S2 would be coming out. But of course, to no avail. Thanks Trisha from AT&T Customer Service - You tried!

I really can't even begin to tell you how simply EXHAUSTED I am with trying to track this phone. And I found out about it in August. So I can't even imagine what those who have been waiting for 5+ months feel like right now. There were so many release dates that have been rumored and this is the second fluke I've experienced. The first was the Aug. 28th rumored release.. and now this. Mind you, I have a transfer in progress to my checking account so I could buy the phone tomorrow. Wow... what a disappointment to say the very least. I've had an upgrade available for a year and for that entire year I've been browsing the web for a phone worth upgrading to. I have an iPod Touch so I don't want an iPhone 4 or 5 (that you'd have to jailbreak to get the type of features the S2 has anyway). And I've been done with blackberrys for sooooo long. The BB Curve 8900 that I've had for this whole yr+ could not scroll down for the past few months so my BB use was verrrry limited for some time until recently it just started to scroll down again. It still gers stuck occassionally. 

But all I'm sayin is that AT&T needs to be on top of these rumors (like someone had said previously) and let their customers know what's goin on!! There's a place you can sign up to get email updates for the S2's release but so far I've been signed up for a week or more and NOTHING. C'mon AT&T! By the time you release this phone, half of your customers will be GONE and Sprint will be on top of the market!

I've been with AT&T since 2004 and I've had my upgrade available for over a year waiting for a decent andriod phone to come out. I was hoping this would be it, but to everyone elses frustration AT&T decides to keep dragging thier customers along. I would switch to Verizon in a heartbeat if they could give me the unlimited data plan I have now. I might as well have bought an overseas version 6 months ago when it was released to the rest of the world. Shame on you AT&T.

I also waited outside at&t for 20 mins just for the employee to tell me he had no idea when the galaxy s 2 was coming out!!!! at&t, {word filter evasion}!!!!

The Sept 18th release date is from rumors and yes, at&t should've corrected that.   Especially from Samsung's website (att's vendor).  Samsung should be responsible for the false info.

I went to a Corporate Store this morning and the woman in the store was quite rude - she responded to my question about the GS2 by saying "Sir, NO, it's not out and we don't know when it will be available." I also asked about upcoming LTE phones - this is the kicker - she and another guy tell me ALL 4G phones will be LTE compatible. Shame on them!!

Well guess what TimStrader... You ARE WRONG!!  Call Any ATT Store and they will confirm this... you must have mistaked a thursday with a Sunday or you were at another cell provider..

I've been considering leaving AT&T for a while now. Their customer service has just increasingly become crappy over the past few years and I've been with them for a long time. I've been waiting for this phone (still have the 3GS) and it's ridiculous that a company this large with a product this popular can't give us a proper release date or at least deny the Sept. 18 date. The network where I live is always bogged down and slow, sometimes I have full bars then poof I have one. I think I'm done you too AT&T, good luck with your future if your going to keep this crap up.

All of you people complaining about AT&T not announcing the GS2 release date...and threatening to switch to Verizon or Sprint....

I'm with Verizon, and do you want to know what Verizon did?  It's much worse than what AT&T is doing.  They sat quiet for months while the cell phone news websites said Verizon was getting the GS2, and it would be called the "Function".  Then, at the end of August, right before AT&T and Sprint's release dates were announced, it was announced that Verizon wasn't getting the GS2 at all.  Do you know how P'od that made me?  It made me want to switch to AT&T or Sprint.

I don't know where you guys got September 18th as the AT&T GS2 release date.  Everything I read said Sprint was going to release it on the 16th, and AT&T was going to release it on the 19th.

I have contacted the Sprint stores in my area, and they haven't even received any GS2's yet.  They tell me "they are on backorder".

I don't think I'm going to go with Sprint.  Their coverage in my area is not good.  AT&T's coverage is better than Verizon's in my area, so I think I'm going to get a GS2 from them. 

Is the AT&T GS2 going to be 4G LTE?  Does AT&T even have 4G LTE?

The issue is just not the wait, it is the total lack of info and attitude of AT&T in general.  I want this phone and have cash on hand. Called stores numerous times and get no answers. Usually, they seem to have never heard of the phone at all.

Someone claims stores have a waiting list? Never told that on the phone.  

ATT has been slow to add devices people want, other than iPhone. When all 4 carriers have the iPhone, what is ATT good at?

Verizon is faster with better coverage

Sprint has better selection of devices and better prices.

I just saw a post on the xda developers forum. It seems samsung has updated their product page for the AT&T samsung galaxy s2. I guess it should be releasing this week(by the looks of it...still showing as coming soon on the page)...lets hope.

This is what is going to happen. AT&T will release GS2 within the 4 week release window of iphone5.

And once iphone5 is released, the AT&T store is going to see a massive influx of GS2 returns :-)

Get over it.  You are wrong.  iPhone4 launch...not sunday.  Actually i don't think any of the iPhones have launched on a Sunday.
