Brothers & Sisters!!! ((((big hug))))))) At long last, i've found y'all... I thought i was the ONLY nut who's world feels like it will be off its axis UNTIL i get this freakin' phone in my hand...lol
I have contemplated Sprints version of this phone AT LEAST a million times since i went to see it on Friday (and mind you, i AM already with Sprint, but will be moving to AT&T just to have the smaller version of the SGS II with the NFC chip : )
But that phone is just a tad too big. Its like, with the screen off, ur like, um, its just too big. Then u turn the screen ON, and ur like, "i can live with it"... BUT i'd rather have a phone that i was happy with when its BOTH on and off, yanno?
Anyway, i wouldn't say i am AS disappointed as some of y'all, cuz my hopes started to dim when no word AT ALL came out over the past couple of days.
What i understand MORE than any of the people who say, "oh get over it, go to a diff carrier, get a diff phone, is that THIS phone is the ONLY phone out (well, not "out" but very "imminent") that has it ALL.
I have checked out EVERY single phone that is available now, one of the worst things i am finding is that of the few contenders i MIGHT have been swayed by are just too long & skinny (Sensation, EVO 3D) or too ridiculously priced (Bionic) or screen a tad too small (T-Mobile GX2 ) (beautiful phone btw) so "no", right now AT&T's version is the ONLY phone that "answers the call" so to speak : ) Perfect size, (not long & thin with that quirky qHD resolution on so many others), killer camera (even FFC's 2 MP is best available right now) killer specs, not even ONE negative thing about it (and i had its predecessor for a year "The Vibrant" so i KNOW this phone well : )
Luckily, soon, we will have many dual core, high res, quality screened, high internal RAM/Mem etc to choose from, but RIGHT now at this point in time, we are "on the cusp of a technology tilt" and AT&T's version of the SGS is the ONLY phone that answers preactically EVERY cell phone need we all have at this time all in one little perfect pkg. (Don't let me catch even ONE of you griping about it ONCE it gets here, neither... lol j/k
Seriously, I totally disagree with all those ppl that say, "if u keep waiting for the next best phone you'll never be happy, blah blah blah"...cuz there is a huge difference between a phone coming out that has a feature or two you'd LIKE to have (but its not going to kill you) and a phone coming out that doubles the performance, screen quality, memory and size of a phone you DO have.
So here's to the next wave of phones that are due out, i think the mfgs are finally getting the msg we don't want to be "hobbled at the knees" when it comes to our technology, and it looks like if we can be patient thru the next few months, we will no longer have to sit around wasting days, weeks, even months on the brink of our chairs waiting for the next great phone... (well MAYBE a couple of us ALWAYS will, but ...lol) becuz the phones will be out "waiting for us consumers to purchase them, and NOT the other way around....Raise a glass : )
