No, not at all. I think AT&T will tell us when they are ready to. In all honesty here, it's a wireless phone. I have better things to do than to get myself all worked up over something like this. But hey, if you or anyone else wants to, be my guest....

I disagree. Based on past experience with ATT I feel that they will not ever tell their customers why it took so long to come to market. In my experience with ATT....and it's been quite a while I have had them....they are horrible with giving out information and even WORSE with giving out CORRECT information.

I am frustrated. Can't help it. It's not just the S2 delay though. It's the whole ATT package.

Had to make an account just to reply to this. YES about the LG Vu. I have been struggling with it for the past two years and it is so much trouble it's not worth it. The phone randomly dies by the hour, the touchscreen feels like it's weak and from the eighties, not to mention it's so difficult to use because the screen is so tiny and it's designed so poorly. Horrible phone. So, of course, when I was finally eligible for an upgrade this summer I immediately wanted to get a new phone. I was originally going to get the Samsung Infuse, after convincing my mom to get it, but then I heard about the Galaxy S2 and it just seemed like the perfect phone. So I waited and waited and waited, becoming frustrated that the phone was not out yet, and now september is almost over and we're nowhere closer to getting it. I should have gotten a new phone months ago, but I want this one. I'm not upset about them not releasing it on the 18th, those were just rumors anyway, but what does bother me is that they haven't even announced a release date when the phone's been out in the rest of the world for months and on sprint for days. There's no excuse for the phone not being out now, and as anyone who has ever had to deal with an LG Vu will understand, I am desperate for an upgrade.

I do question the validity of ATT waiting on the iPhone 5 to release this phone for a couple of reasons.

1. Why? ATT will make the same amount of money if someone buys an iPhone 5 or an SGS2. Why would it matter to the carirer? I'm still purchasing their phones, their plans.

2. A lot of the market for the SGS2 are power users who are very well aware of what may be coming in the iPhone 5. I don't think it has anything extremely groundbreaking that would make me return an SGS2 for it.

3. Couldn't it backfire? If they release them at the same time, what if the peopel they were holding back for say, "Man, that was a dissappointment from Apple. Time for my SGS2!"

I will be very disappointed in ATT if this phone is not released before then. I'm praying for this weekend, but I bet it won't happen, unfortunately.

Giving AT@T till the end of this month; if the GS2 isn't out by then its off to Sprint!

Seeing as though when i ask my at&t store clerk about any news on the GS2 and her response being "GS2? hmmm never heard of that one" doesnt seem like the release is imminent.

Completely agree with the earlier poster, hit em where it hurts ...their hungry pockets!

Man you nailed it. Why would AT&T give two craps what phone they sell as long as they get people on a 2 year contract?

Why take a chance to lose tons of people to Sprint to make Apple happy? I dont get it.

AT&T said "in the coming weeks" in New York. To me weeks = 1 - 3 weeks. 4 weeks = a month. So if it's not out by the 25th I go to Sprint, and if I get coverage everywhere like the map shows. I will never go back to AT&T again!!!! When I got the iPhone 3G I left VZ and was afraid that AT&T would be crap. 3 years later their still taking my money. I hope the same thing happens when I go to Sprint.

How hard is it to say when it's coming? do they not know?

Do you really think the iPhone is going to release on Sprint on Oct 4 and AT&T on Oct 19 and VZ on Nov 7? The iPhone will have the same release date on all carriers. WHY CAN'T OTHER PHONES HAVE THAT TREATMENT!!!

Do you sit on the board at AT&T or Apple??? {Please keep it courteous} Show some facts! Do you know the legal ramifications that Apple would suffer??? Plus most people buying the S2 have an iPhone and will not buy another one so why wait to release it until the iPhone comes out? People will still just buy the S2.

If AT&T releases the iPhone5 before or at the same time as the Galaxy S2 then I am switching to Sprint. I have had an iPhone 3G and a 3GS but I want the S2. I'm tired of the wait.

Actually, it can use AT&T 4G HSPA+. The international version is quad-band HSPA+ compared to AT&T version's Tri-Band HSPA+.. The warranty is a big issue.

What do you guys think about sprint though?...... I went to sprint to test out the Galaxy S II, and sprints 3g is garbage, actually it's 4G is garbage too, no where near att 3g. I thought maybe it's just my area, even though sprint says this area has great signal. I checked youtube, and sure enough, sprint had a horrible speed in every benchmark I seen vs the competition. Does anyone else have this same experience? I mean not for nuthing but if sprint had good fast service, I'd switch in a heart beat, great phone, $99 unlimited, and they don't regulate your speed when you use the internet alot. But I can't switch to sprint just to get the best phone, and end up with horrible internet speeds. that will make any phone feel like junk.
