I think the AT&T customer service reps and staff in the stores makes it even more confusing, and I also think a few people posting here may not be thinking straight (or logical). Based on everything I read here and in other places, this is what I figured out:
If you ordered the phone before June 18 (a.k.a. pre-ordering), the phones started shipping today with delivery tomorrow. They start with the ones ordered on June 6, then the ones on June 7, etc. However, as they seem to have a shortage of teh white model, this far only the blue model is being shipped. So if you ordered a blue on the 7th, it has been shipped, but if you ordered a white on the 6th, it has not been shipped.
As it seems to be a slight back-log, I would not be surprised to see that anyone who ordered the phone towards the end of the pre-order period (e.g on the 15th or 16th) will have to wait a few extra day, perhaps as long as until June 24.
If you ordered the phone after June 18, the phone will either be shipped some time after June 21, after all orders placed before June 18 have been shipped. My guess is that if you ordered after June 18, your phone will not be shipped until June 28.
The phones will start to be available in the stores on June 28. Count on them selling out quickly, though.
Above are my educated guesses, based on posts in this forum, other forums, some logical thinking and 10+ years experience as a journalist in the IT industry. I can be wrong, but I don't think I am too far off.
I suggest that everyone who post about shipping lists the following information:
1) Color: white or blue
2) What date and time you placed your order.
3) If the order was placed online, in an AT&T retail store or at a third-party store (Radio Shack, store in the mall, etc)
4) What time you received your shipping confirmation (if you got one).
That information, if posted by enough people, will give everyone a better idea about the shipping pattern.
