They released UCKL2 and then pulled that - the released UCKL2 was identical to what had shown on XDA two months earlier.
So UCLB3 is going to be identical to what's on XDA.
ICS is now available for Infuse in alpha form thanks to jt1134 (usually he does Verizon work)... Looks like I'll be doing some CM9 polishing this weekend. ![]()

Oh OK. ICS sweet. BUT doesn't Zeus already use the ICS framework?

I guess people have nothing better to do than tweak a phone.
At least I learned that it's not worth all the time and effort. Good luck to the rest of you that want to spend every waking moment worrying about your phone. Funny stuff.

And no jim_pie, zeus doesn't use the ics framework. It's GB and nothing more. But you can get the ics theme for it.
At least most of the devs at xda are somewhat normal and respond to others without thinking they are a god.

Am I the only one that cannot have both USB Debugging and Kies Mode at the same time???
When I check USB Debugging mode and plug my phone, it automatically connects as USB Storage not as Kies Mode... and Yes... I've tried many time to set Kies Mode (Firmware Update) on Applications - USB Settings

1. You already whined about the fact that you gave up and are back on stock Froyo and "Happy" again. So what gives now?
2. PS - I am and have been running zeus for a number of months now, and I'm sorry to break it to you, but, YES, it DOES have the ICS framework - in fact, I use the ICS launcher even!
[Please keep it courteous]

I just tried to upgrade my Samsung Infuse 4G to Gingerbread following the instructions in your link. I got Kies mini installed; it recognizes the phone and displays the Phone Upgrade page with the correct phone. My phone says it is connected but everytime I click on the Phone Upgrade button, Kies mini crashes ("TODO: <File description> has stopping working"). I click on Close the program and receive the message "Handle:198734, x:692, y:292, width:537, height:466."
When I click on OPK, I am returned to the Phone Upgrade window of Kies mini. We will loop through this scenario until I exit Kies mini.
What can I do to get this upgrade to work?

Apparently, everyone is complacent about their upgrade and are unwilling to help out those who couldn't upgrade. I am one of those who can't upgrade yet. The last time I attempted it was full of "unrecognized device" errors, "SGH-i997 could not be upgraded" messages, and even "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue..." messages.
It would really help if someone out there, anyone, could explain why these errors occur and how to prevent them.

Attention at&t... my battery life sucks after the Gingerbread update. I used tio be able to get a decent two day's use before the Gingerbread update. Now I'm barely able to to get one's days worth out of it with the same settings and and same amount of activity as before. What gives?!? After the long wait to upgrade I'm getting ready to chunk it and go with another carrier!

I tried to use a friends computer. He has a new machine with windows 7.
I got the same results except when the phone switched to download mode it had no problem finding and installing the right drivers. But when I ran it again it still was unable to up date.
I called the warranty people and he said that I might have to upgrade to the froyo upgrade that was offered earlier first. He tried to do it remotely. Over the phone and said it would take some time but after that I should try to upgrade again with kies mini.
He was able to send some settings instructions to the phone but the update never made it.
I'm gonna call again today and see if we can get it to work. If it doesn't I'm going to take it to their office.

For those having battery problems after the upgrade, try doing a factory reset. I did one out of frustration and my battery is doing great now.

Kies & Kies Mini does not work for Mac OSx. Says phone not recognized. What do I do next? This seemed to be the issue originally. I thought this was fixed. Even upgrade instructions are only for Windows.

"For those having battery problems after the upgrade, try doing a factory reset. I did one out of frustration and my battery is doing great now."
I did that and it didn't help.
What I did, I stopped all of the unnecessary processes running on the background, including data connection, GPS, WI-FI, Bluetooth - EVERYTHING. I left only the phone functionality. This worked, I now have 2-3 days of the uptime.
However I do have some Wi-Fi issues, I have to reset my Wi-Fi router each time I want to connect, otherwise it just says that my Wi-Fi is not in range (even if I stand in front of my router).

I agree with darlag2. If you are having problems with your phone after upgrading, a factory reset might solve your problems. It solved my issues. However, I would first try clearing all the caches. If that doesn't work, then I would proceed to a factory reset.

I had the same issue of not being able to upgrade as well... after several attempts i figured it out... yes there are additional drivers needed but its not installing when you go into download mode..... here is what i did... when kies mini is opened up hit the menu tab in the upper left and select install driver... it will go through and reinstall all the drivers again... don't reboot just plug phone in in and go through the upgrade... once the phone goes into download mode you will see the additional drivers install...... which took about 3 minutes... i hope this helps...

I've already upgraded to 2.3.6. If I do a factory reset, will it reset to Froyo or will I stay on Gingerbread?

It will NOT go back to Froyo, unless you re-flash the phone with the stock ROM (Froyo).
I did a hard reset as well, but that didn't make any difference for me, I only lost all my installed APPs.

Battery consumption problem with Yahoo Mail:
After my GB update, my battery consumption became terrible, about 3% per hour. I did a hardware reset and consumption was fine, closer to 1% per hour. I slowly added apps back until I found the culprit - Yahoo Mail. This didn't seem to an issue on Froyo for some reason, but on GB, it at least doubles and close to triples device battery consumption. I found some references on the net also citing battery issues with the Yahoo Mail app.

Needless to say when it got the the android screen with the little guy digging it would hang and crash and I had to reboot my phone.....
I decided to try a computer that has no files or anything on it....basically brand new.....
went on the Samsung page downloaded mini kies it installed all drivers......then I rebooted the computer... after the reboot I opened mini kies and connected my phone ...went through the entire installation perfectly and now I'm rocking 2.3.6 Woohoo......I kept every single file on the phone minus superuser......which I now need to find to get rid off all the att bloatware yet again....... I hope this helps everyone.....use a different computer.......original was like a 2002 desktop running xp and the newer laptop was about a 2010 running vista

Can anyone post a simple straightforward tutorial on how to get the phone to upgrade?
One year after relase and we are getting the first meaningful update. My touchpad is on Ice Cream Sandwhich (so I am not a tota Droid l Noob).... This is terrible, what ATT users are being put through...
I have tried everything. several computers, onto Kies Mini now. I have never gone to Cyanogen or other third party rom but this terrrible experience may drive me there. One year to an HTC, unless ATT wants to give me an out on the upgrade.
I am stuck with the Droid digging, and then I get a message that the "the phone could not be upgraded" in Kies Mini.... nothing else. So comments suggestions would be appreicated. By the way, USB debug and Kies Mode are mutually exclusive....

You could try going to an AT&T Device Support Center and have them upgrade your phone for you if all else fails. They will do it for you for free.
