SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE
Maybe I'm missing the big picture or I just don’t know where to look on the instructions. ![]()
Can somebody please tell me how to make a video call on my Samsung captivate? I’ve tried looking on YouTube and can only find people using it and no one showing how. In one of the videos, I saw a “Video Call” icon that I do not have in any of my contacts even other Samsung phone users (vibrant).
Also if someone can tell me where to find this feature in the instructions as it is not listed under “Making Calls” or “Video”
Any help would be useful, thanks

Video calling is not a stock feature which means you'll have to use another app or service to make video calls. Fring for example (in the market and fring.com). Skype is also supposed to have video calling for all android phones by the end of the year or so.
More importantly, though, the Captivate doesn't have a front-facing camera (other versions of the Galaxy S do). So even if you could make video calls, you'll have to make the call in front of a mirror if you want to see the other person and have them see you at the same time.

Just a question, If the Captivate doesn't have a front camera, what's between the front speaker and the AT&T logo, just to the left? I looks just like all the front camera's on the other Samsung droid phones. When I bought it, it was should to me by AT&T as a front camera phone.
Thanks for the last reply

Those are the proximity and light sensors. The only Galaxy S phone in the US with a front facing camera is the Sprint Epic.
