I spoke with a support rep at AT&T today and was informed that ICS for Skyrocket and others started rolling out on 6/12 and that is being pushed in groups. Hope she wasn't just blowing smoke. She told me that her two kids have devices and had gotten the ICS already and they had arrived several days apart.

I just did a software update check. I was informed there is an update available but the servers are overloaded. Figures.

Hopefully it'll d/l in the background soon! If this ICS update isn't what I like, I may try out CM9 since they have nightlies out now...

Just spoke with AT&T cs and he told me its out for Galaxy S2 but that its noted for mid-august for the Skyrocket

I had the same thing a few months ago, but it turned out to be a false alarm, or perhaps AT&T revoked it. I hope it's the real thing this time.

I did an update check on my skyrocket. Says there is one available but its overloaded!! YAY.

But now mine says I can check back in 24 hours... ahhhh

Go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/"All" tab/Device management/Clear data

You can then go back into Software Update and check again right away.

There is a thread on XDA stating that if you currently have 2.3.5, this update is to 2.3.6

If you currently have 2.3.6 this update is a glitch and another false alarm.

I guess the waiting continues.....

I have 2.3.6 and it said there is an update available, but it has said this before as well....so Im not going to get my hopes up, especially since the last time it said it, it never said anything about it again even though it says it will automatically download....

by doing Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/"All" tab/Device management/Clear data, i tried to see if any update from AT&T server in my Skyrocket minimum 5 times within 30 mins. But it said, the Software is up tp date. I used a strong WiFi network outside USA. A few people saw updates on Kies for the I777. It seemed almost like it got pulled afterwards though.

Doesn't really matter, I777 has the least need for an AT&T release thanks to I9100 getting official ICS back in March.

Also may I add, that if you go to here

you will see that I727(R) is updated to ICS. I assume the "R" is for Rogers b/c its the same model... Soon guys... soon.

No proper procedure was maintained. Even AT&T didn't say about the update in their Facebook a/c...

OK, that says that ICS for the non-R version is about 6 months away then.

See the Infuse - SGH-I997R was released with Gingerbread in late July 2011. SGH-I997 did not receive Gingerbread until late February/early March 2012.

All the info from AT&T community and AT&T facebook a/c and the AT&T cs are indicating that Skyrocket's owner has to wait more than one month from now on to get ICS in their smartphone

I've been using a non-root, 3rd gen ICS ROM for two months now. Its glitch free and fixes the battery issue 2.3.6 plagued my skyrocket with. Once again my phone is NOT rooted and my warranty is still valid. Got it from androidauthority. It's called Google folks.

I linked it from androidauthority but my post was apparently deleted. I can't believe at&t calls this a support form. More like a repression form. You guys are on your own. Google "how to flash ICS for galaxy skyrocket" and look for androidauthority. It took me about ten minutes to install. Read the directions before you start so you don't miss any steps. By the way, my screen is set at 100% brightness, I use push email, sync'd social apps, text and talk quite a bit, listen to music a few times a day and I easily get through the day without charging. This UCLA2 build will stop your LTE radio from constantly hunting for a signal if it can't find one which is the primary drain on your battery. Enjoy.

I called Samsung about this. The same exact thing happened with my phone. The rep told me that what it was, was actually ATT sending a "ICS test update and the actual ICS update would be coming soon". What "soon" means is anybody's guess but just telling you what Samsung told me about this.

I've found some sentences about AT&T's Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket in AT&T's Facebook a/c. Two of them replied like below:

* AT&T Fan Page The Galaxy II can be upgraded now. The Skyrocket we hope in a few weeks. Plug your phone into your computer and open the kies app. ~ Lance

*AT&T Fan Page This update is only for the original Galaxy SII not the skyrocket, there is no work on when that will become available yet, but this should be a good sign that it is coming soon ~Adam

you have to be on the factory orignal update of gb and not a rooted ics le2 version, this why it is coming up not supported..
