ICS 4.0.4 upgrade for Samsung Galaxy SII SKYROCKET - need to install the Samsung Kies software first>
Samsung "Kies" Version.2.3.2.12064_9
then the whole procedure is clearly written in the below link>
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQ
Important Note: ICS upgrade for SKYROCKET needs a faster Computer (Desktop/Laptop) with a very good internet connection(no connection interruption during the whole process) which has good speed too. Because Kies software's download speed is very slow.
The process takes 3 steps:
1. first a small file will be downloaded via Kies
2. Second time main ICS file will be downloaded via Kies
3. ICS file will be written into The Skyrocket (very much improtant and serious matter, because if there is any interruption in this step phone will be bricked)

You're assuming I didn't read minimum requirements for kies redhot, or install update properly. But the update itself it crap. I'm a good computer whiz/tech guy. The update destroyed my battery life. So give us jelly bean.
Well you could improve your battery life though, ICS I think handles memory and Ram management different than Gingerbread so you can adjust to it to get the best out of it
- Get Juice Defender from the app store...it works GREAT especially on Galaxy S2 and S3
- Check your sync settings and dont have things sync every 5 minutes..Id suggest every hour
- Do not use too many widgets
Those should help!

I am not assuming I am just trying to help...geesh...why dont u root your phone and go back down to Gingerbread

I'm sorry to hear it doesn't work for you. This update worked wonders for my Skyrocket and the ICS Update worked great for my Samsung Note. The battery life is an improvement for me. Be careful on the apps you install. Developers have a hard time developing for android because of so many platforms and devices. Check your battery status and look at which services are running and using the most battery life.

AT&T. I've had the worst cellular experience with you. I'm only with you because of our contract.after two years. Verizon will get my business. My skyrocket update has caused my phone to last less than six hours on a charge. I use to get all day. Wanna fix the crap update? Give us jelly bean. Don't want to fix it? Watch Verizon take your business because you've really disappointed people
Whatever you do, Verizon is the LAST place you want to go to escape phone problems. As bad as AT&T is with updates, Verizon is as bad with updates PLUS they practice rampant bootloader locking which prevents you from taking matters into your own hands as a backup.
I would recommend an unlocked Galaxy Nexus from the Google Play store, along with a carrier that does not force a contract subsidy penalty on you if you don't have a subsidized phone. Examples are T-Mobile (GNex is one of the only options here) or Straight Talk's BYOD plans - AT&T's towers without the subsidy penalty.

They should but they won't. Look at how long SGH-I777 (Galaxy S II) UCKK6 went with no update to fix its atrocious brokenness... UCLE5 took every problem it had, failed to fix it, and added a bunch of new ones as I understand it. (I'm not just running CM9 on my I777 - I'm the CM9 maintainer for it now.)

It would take time becasue they have to customize it for each phone and test it for bugs which would probably take months

Jelly Bean just came out last month lol
If your talking about ICS...I cant really answer that, but I bet the other carriers still havent gotten their update yet...If I am not mistaken, its not only AT&T that determines the release, but they work with Samsung as well, so it all depends on Samsung too...not sure why it too so long though

But do look for a JellyBean upgrade from the Skyrocket community. There's already been demonstrable work done to bring JellyBean to the Skyrocket (e.g. CyanogenMod 10). Carriers and even manufacturers have little incentive under the "I expect free OS upgrades on my phone" marketplace they find themselves in, so I don't blame them.

By now we all have ICS and the update, so lets move on from ICS because my Skyrocket still locks up at least once per day and I have to reboot it. When is Jelly Bean coming out? The Jelly Bean list stated the Galaxy S II is supposed to get it and our Skyrocket is more powerful than the regular S II so where is the relase AT&T. I'm in concurance, if we don't get updates I may just have to take my tax refund and break my contract with you guys and move to Verizon. It'd be a dang shame after being with you guys for 9 years, but I'm tired of AT&T dragging its feet until their customers simply give up.

Install Nova Launcher, then remove Trebuchet launcher files from memory as directed. Your battery life will improve.
Do not remove any other apps unless your relatively sure there will be no adverse affects in doing so.
