Last year when I purchased my 3G they activated my phone at the Apple Store. Do they have to open the box and activate it this time around when I get my 3GS?

They might let u do it urself via i tunes when you get home but i dont know if they let u do that cause everyone i saw had to have thiers opened and activated

here in RI, the opened the box but just lifted it up enough to connect it via USB.. didnt take any stickers off the phone or anything else out.

when i got home it WAS just like opening a new box/phone (which it was)
