Hello,
First let me apologize because I'm sure this is covered somewhere but I'm struggling to find it. I have an unlocked iPhone 4S I purchased from Apple in the UK and I'm moving back to the good ol' USA in a few weeks. I want to keep my phone, but I'm struggling to understand what AT&T does if you bring a device.
1. Will I be made to sign a 2-year contract?
2. If I am, what will my upgrade eligibility date be?
3. Aside, could I add my unlocked iPhone to my parents' existing family plan?
Solved! Go to Solution.

1. No 2. Since you do not have to enter into a new contract, you will be eligible for upgrade any time. 3. Yes.

I am an AT&T employee and the postings on this site are my own and don’t necessarily represent AT&T’s positions, strategies or opinions.

1. No
2. There is no reason to sign a contract if you bring your own handset, therefore not applicable.
3. Yes as an additional line (no contract obligation other than your parents pay their bill
