They didn't offer me the priority shipping option. 

Anyone else who is shipping today pay priority and get saturday delivery or anyone not pay priority and get saturday delivery?

Well my 8gb phone ordered on opening day at 10:50am finally shipped! Looks like it's going to be here on Monday so I guess fedex doesn't deliver on Sat. Oh well at least it has finally shipped!!!

That's a good question.  When I look at the shipping notes from my store there are clearly 2 different types of FedEx shipping.

Okay,, I just ordered my phone yesterday (16G Black) and I see my order online.  However, reading this thread I keep hearing talk of checking your status in the queue?  Is this online somewhere?  I went through about 50 pages of this thread but cant find a reference to such.

A whole bunch of 7/11 DF'ers at my store (Madison, WI) had their phones shipped today. It looks like things are finally starting to turn around.

I've been kind of rough on AT&T about this, but I do think their fulfillment system is out of whack and their level of communication with customers on the DF issue has been unacceptable.

But hey, I'll be paying them for wireless service right up until the day their exclusive agreement with Apple expires, so I reserve the right to kvetch for the next 2-4 years (varies depending on who you believe)!

I've been following this thread all week, trying to prepare myself for ordering at some point. On our way down to the beach (New Jersey), I called the AT&T store down here in case they had any in stock (doubtful, but you never know). The rep I talked to said that they have none in stock (of course), no idea when they might come in again (of course), they could get a shipment by 1pm tomorrow (doubtful), but (and this is the reason I'm posting here): They are no longer accepting Direct Fulfillment orders at this time because of the massive backlog of DF orders already in the system...

Good luck to all of you. I'm resigning myself to waiting until August until we get them. Hopefully, none of you have to wait that long....

They charged my bank today too... its under my pending transactions. I ordered a super cute pink case from griffintechnology.com today. It's backordered for 2 weeks so i figure the case might come in at this rate before the phone does. Geez.

jimckimmel - If there's an Apple Store reasonably close to you (and it looks like there are quite a few in New Jersey), I suggest you try your luck there, unless you need to go to AT&T for some reason (like you have a corporate account).

Apple stores will continue to get a more-or-less steady trickle of them, even as AT&T works through the DF backlog.
