I've got it. Listening to Pandora on it right now and it is amazing. Although it took me forever to get the darn thing. When I got to the store the system was down, it was packed with customers, and I was queued up like it was 7/11. Sheesh. Then when I finally got to the counter they said I wasn't eligible for the phone. Inside I was all like "aahhhhhhhhh" (not a direct quote) but I kept the patient exterior, no need to take it out on the poor girl serving me. They finally figured it out and I was able to walk away with the phone in slightly less time then it takes for an elephant to gestate. So there we are. But yeah other than the fact that it takes me about twice as long as it took to wait for the phone to type out an email all is great with the world (grumble keyboard grumble). Woot!

It seems the 16GB black phones all came off back order at the same time. Furthermore, since the shipping is from distribution to store, the back order status must be for the entire country or distribution center that services our local stores. Does anybody have a 16GB black that isn't on backorder?

I ordered my black 16GB on July 21st, and over the weekend my store recieved alot, but ever since today zero phones have shipped to my store...so far.. I hope I get mine before/on thursday!!

edit: my phone also is now off backorder.

That is the date I ordered mine, same model as well. My store blew through a bunch of orders this weekend. I assume the higher demand 16GB blacks weren't shipped though since the orders they did ship where in the middle of the queue.

Usually they are updated by now! It doesn't seem likely that none have shipped at all because on my queue there aren't even any orders for today. In fact 07/28 doesn't show up anywhere. So either the store has suddenly locked all the doors or the server isn't updated / updating . . .

I need my queue fix!

It seems that nobody has seen a shipment today, meaning that the site still needs to update.e Give it a few hours and you should see some phones shipped. Hopefully a lot of them.

I've been reading this thread for the past few days and have found tons of valuable information so I decided to sign up! I ordered a 8GB on 7/20 and I'm currently 30 in the iPhone queue.

However....
The order status and iPhone queue script HAS to be backed up a little. I was #55 on Thursday and went to 30 by Saturday so there's no way that many went out in 2 days then none today so far!

I have found some things that can help this perpetual time pass...

Line up some apps you plan on getting.
Clean up your library. I went through and deleted about 100 songs which I never listen to. I only got the 8GB so I want to make sure I have plenty of room for all my apps, music, and maybe movies.
Check out some accessories, I really recommend a case or screen protector. I've seen tons of photos so far with scratches all over the back of the phone and I really don't want mine looking like that. I ordered a Griffin Wave case with a Power Support crystal screen protector.
Hit that little refresh button on the iPhone queue page and ATT order status page. Haha just kidding, don't do that!

I moved up Sunday to 34 from 41. AT&T did say most orders take 13-14 days so keep your fingers crossed and start praying if you do that sort of thing...

It sounds like they haven't updated the queue website yet, and when they do update it, I hope they shipped ALOT out today

I'm 6th in line for my Black 16G, which I ordered on 7/18.

When I ordered the phone, I was quoted at 3-4 weeks. No big deal since my Verizon account expires at the end of August but I found I've been checking the order status page constantly and now that it's getting closer to actually getting one, I'm even worse than before!

Fingers crossed that they ship out tonight.

Does anybody know of a 3g car mount that charges and has an auxiliary out for hooking into a stereo? I'd like to drop the phone into a holder and have it connected to my stereo. The FM transmitter thing is just a PITA so I want to avoid that.

A wireless remote would be a big plus as well.

I'm third in line at my store. 2 orders from the 16th then mine from the 17th.

16g blk takes longer but I want the storage space.

In other words, there are still a few orders for the 16g blk that havn't been shipped yet that were ordered on the 16th and the ones from the 17th are just starting to be worked.

If you ordered 8g or 16g white you may be in luck for faster turnaround.

For those that remember me, awhile back I commented that I would be canceling my Direct Order Fulfillment but I did not. I figured since we have 30 days to return the iPhone 3G, I can at least test it out and see if I have all of these 3G receptivity issues that are making waves on the internet lately. I can at least give it a chance and find out the truth from my own experience because, I admit, it is a wonderful device I wouldn't mind keeping.

At any rate, I posted to let you know that I ordered a 16GB Black iPhone 3G on Tuesday 7/15 and it has been delivered at the AT&T store near me in Phoenix, AZ at approximately 12:30PM Monday 7/28. I am at work currently and when I get off, I will pick it up and report my impressions on the main forum.

well my iphone black 16gb got off back order now but that doesnt really mean anything. But I know that there shipping phones during weekday and there doing some work. Im thinking i will get mine at aug 5 or later. im like number 10 in line i gues. But i if i put like 30 then it shows me as 30 so idk.
