iPhone 4....Am I looking at an early demise? The last few days, I sometimes can't get the Home button to react. I have to press it 5 or more times. Not always though. Sometimes just once works too. I got the phone when it first came out. I am pretty sure I have Apple care.

Yeah. I will have to. I wasn't going to worry about rushing to fix it since I plan on getting the 5, but I will be handing my 4 off to my Mom, so I want it to be working properly.

My iphone 4 has been doing that also off and on the last few months. It seems to have started with one of the ios 5 updates. Since it is intermittent, I do not think there is anything wrong with the home button but rather at times the iphone cpu is just too busy with other tasks to respond to the home button. I found that turning bluetooth off has helped or if left on, make sure you are able to connect to a bluetooth device. Someone else I know had the same problem and did take it to the Apple store. The Apple genius told them the cause was the phone constantly searching for a bluetooth device. For them, turning bluetooth off was the fix and they have not had a problem since. You might also want to make sure you don't leave too many apps running in the background.

I had my iPhone checked out at the Genius bar. They cleaned out some dust under the button. I am also finding that my home key is better since upgrading to 5.1.

My home button has also been acting up. Someone told me they would replace your iPhone for free when this happens, however I haven't gone to the Apple store to give it a shot. I love my phone however it's a bit frustrating having to hit the home button several times for it to work.

It's just making the appointment. I never do it because I don't want to commit to going at a certian time. So I usually just go when I can and wait to be helped. My Macbook Pro needs to get looked at too. It has a flexing on the bottom shell on the left side. I hear it's not uncommon, so I am not rushing to get it fixed and it certainly doesn't hinder it's performance. One day I will go.....
