Dear friends,
iPhone 3G purchase a hump 16 on the apple store in chestnuthill, supposedly the seller explained to me that the equipment could be purchased with plan and no plans at 299 and released on 599, why pay $ 599 and came to my country with the team to try to use my local operator and find the unpleasant news that the team is locked, as I can proceed to request the release of the equipment given to pay for this concept and the equipment is not free to operate with other SIM CARDS pay for the team and believe this should be released. I must return the equipment if it can not be free? Who should I make a claim? Can you help?
Thanks for your time and help.

Yes neither ATT nor Apple will provide a subsidy unlock on the iPhones sold in the US. As long as ATT is the exclusive carrier in the US, I don't see the policy changing.
The price that you paid was not for an unlocked phone. The price you paid was to get the phone without having to sign a 2 year contract with ATT.
US law does not require the unlocking on phone.
You can choose to jailbreak your device (at your won risk), Sell it to recover your cost, or return it to where you purchase it form for a refund if your still within your return time. If you return it and the box was opened (I assume it was since you figured out about the subsidy lock) you will be subject to a 10% restocking fee be Apple to be able to return it.

El iPhone esta bloqueado. No puede usar con otros SIM cards. Desafortunadamente, no podemos ayudarle.
