I think it sucks that att has the nerve to charge 500.00 for a early upgrade 3gs and have the{ Inappropriate comment removed } to add a 2 year contract, i can see paying 500.00 with out a 2 year contract....
Second,,, puting a time limit on when you can and cant buy a phone is asanine...i can agree to a renewal of your contract each time you buy a new phone but thats it...thinking T Mobil is the way ta go.....

If you don't want to pay the early upgrade you can pay the full retail no commitment price and have it with no contract.

You signed a 2yr contract in order to get your previous phone at a lower price. They are charging you $500 to recoup whatever money they are not getting back by you not following through on your contract. If you were to just wait til your contract is up, your previous phone would have been completely paid for and they have no cost to recoup, therefore you could get the phone at the discounted rate. It's not rocket science. Also, there's no such time limit on when you can and cannot buy a phone. You can buy one whenever you want. In order to get a phone at a discounted rate you need to follow the rules of the contract that YOU AGREED TO.
They have contracts at T-Mobile as well and they aren't going to change their rules for you.

Stop complaining
U wouldnt be complaining if you had an iPhone in your hands
In my experience, AT&T has good service and I dont see myself switching carriers anytime soon...though I dont like Customer Service

Depends on what area the OP lives in. The coverage that I have with my T-Mobile To Go line, is almost equal to that of my AT&T postpaid line.........

ATTM has the best coverage in my area. Reports show that Verizon has better than ATTM in my area... When my mother comes over she always has no reception, or alway drops a call every 30 seconds.
If you don't like ATTMs policies, then sorry you won't like Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc for the same reasons you don't like ATTM. If this has something to do with a different phone than iPhone 3GS you wouldn't be complaining. Good luck to you getting an upgrade mid contract with T-mobile when you go over there.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with AT&T's upgrade process, however, I can tell you for a fact that T-Mobiles upgrades won't be any better once you get passed being a new customer. Feel free to give T-Mobile a try though..........

The internet is VERY serious business, especially when a huge evil company won't give you a $600 item to every customer for $200 without a contract when they pay the remainder to apple to begin with.
That sounds EXTREMELY unreasonable.
In fact, since we're ALL loyal, good customers we should get them for free.
I'll go to Verizon and they'll give me what I want.

This is a forum of customers. We don't have any employees to asist us here.
I thought the Iphone is now being offered at full retail without the committment?
I understand in the past one had to pay full retail and committ for an additional two years.
Personally, the best thing to do in a situation you don't agree with. Is don't purchase it.
Everything is supply and demand. So if there's not a demand. They won't make money off of you.
