So I got an iphone for christmas, and it worked great for a bit, but now the data service no longer works. Whenever I access something other than the telephone function I get a "could not activate cellular data network" error message. I have tried turning it off and then on again, and resetting the network settings, but neither of these fixed it. The phone still works on wifi, but if I disable the wifi or leave the hotspot, I lose internet connection.
Has anyone else exeperienced this? How did you fix it if so?

After having similar issue, and speaking with Apple support - there is an outage in Michigan.
Not sure your location, hope this helps! My service quit around 10-11AM this morning. Still have cell service, not cellular data.

Wow!! I drove an hour to an address I bookmarked in the iphone's gps. When the network apparently went down, it locked up my phone and insisted on an itunes resync. Hard to do when I'm 1 hour away from home. I was about ready to beat the iphone against the payphone I had to use. I guess a network outage can and does happen, but it's unacceptable for it to temporarily brick my iphone.
I'm in MN.
