Iphone 4 bumper scratched my phone!!! Beware

Hey guys when i took off my iphone bumper i saw a few scuffs on the steel band but i didnt think of it too much when i took it off the next day there were more scuffs and the stupid bumper was causing them!!! Im soo mad my perfect iphone is now scratched and i really want apple to replace it, beware guys check your iphone if its been scratched.

While I used one for a short period of time on my first iPhone 4 without it doing anything to it, I have read on blogs and other sites of this issue, so I do believe that this can happen unfortunately. Here are just a few of them:

I have heard of this issue occuring with a few different cases, not just the Bumper. I would recommend you get one of those freakishly hard cases that you need to fight with to rip off, that way it won't move around while you use it

My Speck candy shell case is like this. Not only is it hard to get on and off, but once you have it on, it doesn't move!

Yea it kinda sucks because it lowers the resale value if i were to sell it im kinda disappointed.

Not necessarily. A lot of people like myself will pay more attention to how the screen looks than the sides. Anyway, if you are still planning on using the bumper, I would recommend that you install an Invisible Shield, on the side of your iPhone 4 to prevent any further damage.

I had the same problem. The Apple bumper left scuff marks on the steel band. I use the bezel blaster to gently sand where the scuff marks were. Since the steel band is brush metal all the scuff marks were gone. Goodluck. I am currently uses this case

So the bezel blaster wiped away all of the scuffs? I looked on the site and it said its not recommended for the iphone 4?

I'm using the iskin solo for my iphone 4, and i take it off every night when i'm charging, and it does not scratch my iphone at all. Not to mention, I always wash the case with soap and water to ensure that there is no dust stuck in there the next day when i put it back on. Always check inside and see if there is any sharp object.

As for the scratches on the iphone, what do you expect? all iphone if not taken care off with or without case is bound to get scratches, you think apple is going to replace that? I don't think so, and apple should not have to replace the phone just because the bumber scratched the phone. you have a phone, and you used a bumper, it scratched I consider it that is is a users fault. Apple does not cover cosmetic damage done by user in their warranty and I agree with that.

It's like this, you bought an iphone 4, and now it's yours, you opened it, it's yours, it's no longer in their hand so after you use the iphone 4, it's all up to you what you want to do with it. Apple is not going to care about if you scratch your iphone or not.
