Activated one less than an hour ago.
Make sure the phone you are upgrading "from" is turned off.
Call CS @ 611 from a cell phone other than the one you are trying to activate or upgrade. When it asks you if you are calling about the phone you are calling on, hit 2. it will then ask you which number you are calling about.
It will then say something about " we see you have an upgrade, ie this the phone you are calling about?." follow the prompt's and your phone will get activated.
Then leave the activated phone off about 5 mins
When you turn the "NEW" phone on it will take about 30-60 seconds, the it will show service.
You may have to call CS several times to get to the Activation tree, but it is there.
If you are trying to activate a totally new line, you may have to wait til tommorrow to speak to a "live" CSR.
I don't know if after hours CS can do activations.

Christmas day and all calls are all iphone activation. Apple should be jumping now w/ their sales
I'm just curious. I know you normally get calls about other things, but do people have to call in to activate any phone other than an iPhone?

Been trying to activate my wife's phone, but 611 from my phone just says they are closed..
Even when I enter her number, still just says closed.
Any other tricks???

I'll try some more options on that one, I tried a few times on that number before.
I also tried 866-895-1099 that one walked me through acepting thr terms for a new phone, then said ohh osrry noe one is here.
Guess it would have been a nice fyi when you buy a phone for another person a week before christmas to say "hey you might want to activate this the day before, or it will just be a iPod touch for christmas" ;-)...

I also bought an iphone4s for my husband's christmas gift and am having problem activating his line. I have tried the att.com/activations website and 611 CS with no luck. Can someone help here? thanks.
