New computer how do I transfer my itunes account

I recently purchased a new computer and I downloaded itunes, but I can't figure out how to set up a new account or transfer my old account so that I can sync my iphone. Does anyone know how to do this??? Any help is appreciated.

I'd like to know too, I have 3 computers and three itune accounts all different.lol

I guess you could burn your songs and transfer them to the new PC or have someone teather them and copy the hard drive..

I went to a new computer last year don't don't remember any big problems.  I just downloaded the latest iTunes to it, copied my music files from the old computer, and let it rebuild the library.  When I plugged in the iPhone, it asked me if I wanted to sync it with the new library, and said yes.

I think the question is.. *HOW* exactly do you get your music files off of the old computer and onto the new computer? You said you did it. *WHAT* exactly did you do? *HOW* do you copy the files? iTunes gives no instructions on this. I've been up and down their site and I can't find anything.

My computer died... zip, zap, bam, dead, without warning. There is no way to start it up and copy the music off of it.

So I repeat the original posters question: How do you get your old account onto a new computer... if the old computer is no more?

You can't if you can no longer access your music from your old pc/hard drive/cd. Then you can't put the music from the Iphone onto your computer. It only works from the computer to the iphone not the other way around.

FYI there is all kinds of cheap software available for around $20.00 tohelp you move your music from one PC to another

You may be out of luck if you cannot access the hard drive that you stored your music on.  In the future, consider some form of backup.  I use the Western Digital Home Edition that I bought from Costco.  It includes backup software that runs in the background and copies any files to that drive so I have two copies of everything.  One on my main drive and one on my backup drive. 

Sorry this won't help now but something for the future.

One last thought.  If you purchased the music from iTunes,, go into your account and look at your purchase history and report an issue and see if you can re-download your music.  You can also check out iLounge.com and see if there are some utilities that let you copy your music from your iWhatever back to your computer.  You may find some nice programs that are either free or minimal cost.

To answer the OP's question how to get your iTunes account onto the new computer after installing iTunes click the iTunes store button then there will be a button that says sign in click on it and enter your Apple ID and password and you're in.

I simply used a portable hard drive to copy the mp3 files from my old computer to the new one.  The OP said nothing about the old computer being dead.

Take your computer to Best Buy or a local computer shop it's probably your power supply. Hard drives don't "usually" die without any warnings...They may be able to retrieve your files and media...

Well the way I did it was to move the entire iTunes folder, using a portable hard drive, into the new PC.  If you have Windows XP, for instance, the iTunes folder is located by default in:

C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\My Documents\My Music\iTunes

Make sure you authorize your PC afterwards or you won't be able to play any iTunes purchased content on your computer.
