Prepaid sim

Hi guys, any help would be appreciated. I am visiting the USA, have brought with me my new iPad, removed my uk sim, inserted the data only sim sourced from AT&T yesterday, tried to activate my account using my uk credit card, but the telephone number and address of wher I am staying whilst in the uk. It wont work. I have used this method twice before on previous vists and using my old IPAD 1. Any ideas... Thanks Peter

I've not had great success using a foreign credit card on a domestic carrier (going the other way, actually, while in the UK for a month, trying to refill O2 sims)

It's probably that.
