Problems sending email with IPhone

I am also having problems sending emails on my new IPhone. I have tried all of the options that I found on line including switching my outgoing server to cwmx.com, turning off wifi and shutting down the phone and re-starting it. I still get the message that the connection to the outgoing server has failed. I am a long time AT&T user and just purchased the IPhone. I have everything else figured out (except how to block spam on the incoming mail) any ideas?

try this cwmx.com:25 the port is 25       thats how i got my email to work for cox.net email...

Clueless...

Did you use the settings that Yahoo sent you via their continuous email message?

"We noticed that you are accessing email using non-secure settings in your email software.
We would like to ensure that your AT&T Yahoo! Member ID, password, and email messages are transmitted securely between your mail software (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) and the AT&T Yahoo! Mail servers. In order to meet this need, please enable SSL via the instructions that are available on the Help site.
Since multiple email notifications have already been sent out about this, we request that you please make the necessary changes immediately. Remember, you need to make these changes if you want to continue to send/receive email using a mail client.
Thank you for your cooperation,
AT&T Yahoo! Customer Support"

I went back to the original settings; no problems.  In fact with their settings, I could not send email from my home computer and went back to my original settings.

how do you enable SSL on the Iphone? I am getting an error when sending emails on my Iphone as well.

     Here is the general info for you.

If you're receiving SSL-related errors when logging in via IMAP, please check that your iPhone settings are correct.

     If your settings are right, you may be connecting through a wi-fi network that contains a firewall. Please try connecting to IMAP through a connection other than wi-fi to see if this resolves the issue. If the problem continues, we suggest following up with your service provider or with your wireless network's support team.
