SLOWWWW keyboard

I don't know what the problem is. The last two days my keyboard when I'm sending a text message has been SOOOO SLOWWW!!!! I'll be texting - and I'm pretty fast - and it'll be soooo behind. It's not responding to what I'm pushing fast enough. I can restart my phone, and it'll work fine for awhile, then start up again. It's beginning to be very annoying! Anyone else having this problem?

I shouldn't have to slow down! Seriously, it's annoying! My old iPhone never did this. It's really making me mad. I don't want to have to slow down so that a 5 word text takes 1 minute to type in. Ridiculous

Have you been running many apps or just the SMS application? That does sound mighty odd, unless something is hogging system memory gradually.

I have downloaded a few apps on my phone, yes, but I do not use them that much. I use SMS more than anything on my phone. I will work fine for awhile after I restart it, but that gets kinda old having to turn off and on your phone. I rarely EVER turn my phone off, period. Maybe it'll work itself out with time?

It may have to do with the software. My first gen is very slow in responding to touch now. There are some other reports of it here: http://weblogs.redeyechicago.com/iphoneblog/2008/07/iptib-sends-you.html#comments

If you browse the comments and other posts on the blog, you will see you're not alone. Hopefully, a sfotware update will take care of this. Sometimes my screen can take a minute to respond - quite unacceptable!

Yes I am having the same problems sometimes, my contacts list always takes for ever to load up also

How large is your contact list? I brought mine from 2500 to 200 and am not experiencing the issue any longer ...

Mine started to do this too! I did a restart on the iPhone and all is well now.

(That's accomplished by holding the top and front buttons in at the same time until you see the Apple logo.)

mine was doing this, but i would have to restart the iPhone then it worked, i know its frustrating but until they create a fix for it i guess thats all we can do

my keyboard would also fill up the whole screen so i could not see wat was being typed, and often times the screen would just exit for no reason lol!
