Text Messages Showing up on other phones

Hi, I have a strange issue. I have 4 iPhones 3 on a family plan and one on a work plan. When I text one of my daughters it shows on my other daughters as a text that she sent. Also, vice versa, if I text my other daughter it shows up as a sent text on my other daughters phone. All phones running iOS 5 and using the same iTunes account. I am thinking its something with iMessage. Ideas?

Did you switch SIM cards between these phones recently?

No, I haven't switched sim cards. 1 is a 4s the other 3 are 4's. Forgot to say I also have 2 ipad 2's with iOS 5 as well. Not sure how iMessage works. Thanks

Do all the iphones have the same iTunes login?

that might be the problem. but if your using imessaging  it works off a email address.

They are not really meant to be used that way. I would first off get each one there own iTunes login and see if that helps.

You may want to check the Contact #s on the phones and make sure you haven't swapped them by accident which may be the reason why when Phone1 texts Phone2, that you are actually texting Phone3. In this case, Phone 2 & 3's #s are incorrect/reversed in the Contacts which may be the reason the texts are going to the wrong phones/numbers.

Hopefully this is the reason, if not, then you may want to go to your local Apple or AT& T Store to figure things out.

With iMessage, all of your devices are linked under one Apple ID and that means that every device linked to that ID can see what's being sent to you if you're using iMessage.

I am having this problem too.  What is the easiest way to fix this?  All of the music we have is under one iTunes account....please help!!!!

Havering one iTunes account is fine. Each user may also want to have an additional Apple Id that is used for iMessage and iCloud to keep things separate.

My family shares one Id across multiple apple proddlucts for ITunes and the app store on the macs. I then have a unique ID for each of us. Then within the messages setup you can tag that Id to each device keeping your stuff out off others.

How do you get a unique ID? Where can I set that up at?

Go to "settings" and then "messages" on the phone that is receiving the texts/messages in error.  Scroll down to "send and receive" and uncheck all numbers/emails listed EXCEPT the phone number for that particular phone.
