Depends. When is your elegibility date? It is near?
If you still have many months before it, I doubt they will apply an exception.

FIRST...AT&T has to officially CONFIRM that there is even an iPhone being released this year. ![]()

Oh, come on, do you really think Apple won't continue their tradition of releasing an iPhone each year? ![]()

Why would AT&T confirm anything? It is Apple that makes and sells the device.
Until Apple confirms the device, it does not exist.

There's already a lot of people who have had their upgrade dates made up to several months sooner. I just went from Pick Your Plan to Postpaid a couple of months ago and am thankful that AT&T is using my PYP time in my upgrade date. However, that date is July 2nd and it's looking almost 100% likely that they won't change the date, if only less than a couple of weeks. Once Apple has their official announcement next week, I will call ATT again and see if I can get them to change their minds. I really hope I can.

if you're concerned about your upgrade date, do not make any feature changes to your acct.
my date WAS 10/2010, but because i changed my text package to the 200 package (thinking to lower my bill), it changed my date without me knowing it. i went back to change the package about 2wks later (because clearly i lost my mind and had to change it to cover overage) and saw my upgrade date is now 1/2011. i contacted a cust serv manager and they told me it was because of the change on my feature, but they COULD NOT change my date back, even though i put my feature plan back to what it was before.
so kiddies, don't change anything on your acct and screw yourself out of an upgrade.

If not you could always pay half of the $175/$350 whichever your contract is binded to as of last month. Plus the full price of the iPhone and the $18 upgrade fee.
Unless of course your money is tight and can't afford the $500+ to upgrade. Some people bite the bullet and go for it such as myself.

Sorry to disallusion you, but just added and remove some features on my account within the last 5 days and the eligiblity date stayed exactly the same as it was before I added the features
