I've been looking through posts and many people post that their order has shipped but some don't really posts specifics or you have to go through many posts to find few answers.

I made this in hope we can get a thread of people posting information to help others understand or just see where they stand.

I'll start off..

iPhone Model:  4S White 16GB

Time Pre-Ordered: 06:45AM PST Friday, 10/7

Method: Online on att.com

Status: Item Status: Processing. Shipment Process: BackOrdered

Additional Info: I originally ordered on friday 10/7 but on monday I noticed on the att.com site that I had a different order number than in the email confirmation when I ordred on friday, I also noticed it on att.com it said that I ordered on 10/8 instead of 10/7.. Has this happened to anyone else?

I was just wondering (from those who pre-ordered on AT&T's website)

who actually got a confirmation that their iPhone has shipped?

I pre-ordered a iPhone 4S 32GB Black at 3:28AM Central Time and my order doesn't say backordered,

but it doesn't have a tracking number and it also doesn't say that it has shipped.

I think anyone who ordered early on the 7th need to relax. Their phones will come on the 14th

I suppose the good news is they took the money off my capital one credit card as soon as I placed the pre-order, so there shouldn't be any delay.

However , second upgrade ordered close to exact same time, has yet to show up in Order Status, customer service is dumb-fungled , 76hrs after order and NO order information yet.  NOTE: they sure took my money for it already though...

You know, I'm a sucker for these dern launches.  Each time, I find myself in the same exact situation and each time I let myself get sucked in.

I pre-ordered.  As early as AT&T would allow, so it was in the ballpark of 4:30ish am eastern.  My iPhone 4S 32gb black shows as Processing for all 3 lines, and backordered on all three lines.

I wasn't worried at all until I started reading the forums here and see that other folk's pages don't show backordered on theirs.  *laughing* 

Again, I know I shouldn't get concerned, but here I am sucked in just like every other launch.  *sigh*

mine says the exact same thing and my order is backordered. the csr told me that due to the high volume of orders, my order was not processed until 10/08/2011 even i did the pre-order on 10/07/2011. but then again, csr has been giving different answers each time i call

Additional Info: At 3:36 AM 10/7, I received an email from AT&T stating that my order needed further attention, and that they were unable to verify the availability of funds.  I called them up, and they said many of their orders were triggering fraud alerts from the credit card companies, and I either needed to contact my credit card company or provide an alternate card.  Because I had waited almost 30 minutes at this point, I decided to use a second card.  I was told it went through fine, and that my order had not lost its position in the priority queue.

At 5:41 AM on 10/8, I received an identical email, informing me that my order needed further attention involving the availability of funds.  Instead of calling AT&T first, I called my card company to see what was happening on their end.  They said there was no flag on the order, and that they showed an authorization for the amount I expected.  I then called into AT&T.  They apologized, saying that erroneous emails were sent out, causing confusion.  I asked that they confirm my order was correct and that I would still receive my phone on 10/14, as promised by the confirmation email and by the previous AT&T rep I spoke with on the 7th.  This was confirmed for me.

As of this morning, after having seen all the gleeful boasts of shipping notifications, I haven't seen any change to my status from the weekend.  I phone AT&T, and the rep would not confirm the phone would ship until the 14th, and she indicated that NO phones were going to ship until after the 14th, which was when, she said, Apple was shipping them to AT&T.  I knew this to be bogus information.  The one thing she did mention that didn't sound bogus was that perhaps they were sending different kinds of phones out first (or printing their shippers at least), for instance, perhaps all of the White 16GBs were being processed first, then 32GB black, then 16GB black, then 64GB white, etc... It seemed at least a logical guess.  At the end of the conversation the only thing she offered was to let me know if the status was updated at any point.  This, of course, I can do for myself, but I thanked her nonetheless.  Still eager to see when the phone will actually arrive.

Additional info: Didn't get a confirmation email until Saturday 10/8 at 1:16 PM.  Then got another confirmation email on Monday 10/10 at 1:02 PM (exact same one from Saturday).  Got my shipping confirmation today at 3:52 PM.  FedEx isn't pulling up the tracking number yet, but it usually takes about 24 hours or so for any newly shipped items to register on their site.  So for those of you who have a tracking number but aren't seeing anything, relax.  It's there.  It'll show up tomorrow.  Grab a glass of wine and chill--we'll have our phones by Friday.

John [personal content edited]: This would be 21-28 days from the order date. However, as long as your order was placed before 5:30PM EDT on 10/7 it will ship on or before 10/7.

Mine was exactly the same as your status until this a.m. the status magically updated to shipped on 10/11 (yesterday) via iphone UPS, but the tracking number is not valid. I also do not see any pending charges on my card. I would consider myself lucky if I actually receive it on Friday.

I guess we all have to sit tight!! My Boyfriend ordered through Apple and his phone was shipped last night from China...I am definitely regretting not ordering directly through Apple.

The tracking number is valid. The package just hasn't been handed over to the shipper yet and AT&T hasn't done a bulk transfer of issued tracking numbers yet, so the shipper doesn't know anything about it yet.

Chill out. They'll get handed over to the shippers tonight into tomorrow, and it'll show up just fine.

I talked to Fedex today. They said that the tracking numbers are in the system but won't be released to see any info on them until tomoroow. I talked to a rep at AT&T E Commerce and he told me it couldn't see anything but I would receive my phone tomorrow.

tried to order online from apple website at 5:30am 10/7 est but couldn't because of att family plan. tried to order online with att website, but couldn't get it right. so went to att store to pre-order around 1:10 pm on 10/7 to get it done. att rep entered each order online separately. been reading forum every day since friday. read that orders before 4pm on 10/7 would get shipped for 10/14. wouldn't you know it - our email confirmation came on 3:59pm! so maddening...praying we made the 4pm cutoff date/time. so crazy if we miss it by 1 minute...c'mon update!!!
