Please provide proof that what you stated is actually defined in the AT&T unlock turnaround time policy; maybe the business that you're in and/or own operates just 8 hours a day but many businesses are open for more than 8 hours in a (business) day. Plus, I've read many a fine print where turnaround time is specified in "business days" but I've yet to come across even a handful that go to such an extreme that they have to specify turnaround time in "business HOURS", to the point that they also have to define what constitutes "business hours". I mean, how many businesses do you know that refer to turnaround time--whether it be for shipping, callback, etc.--explicitly in "business hours"--i.e., "You will get a response in 72 business hours"?
"Business hours" is not the same as "Work(ing) hours"; just because someone works 8 hours a day does not mean that a business day by definition is 8 hours long--if that were the case, then all businesses would be open for just 8 hours a day...no?

was quoted business hours when we unlocked all the iphone 3gs's and 4's in the junk box at the office. I go by my expierence, the first unlock email showed up on thursday exaclty 8 business days after the call was made, the rest of the unlocked came in between 4 and 8 business days after the calls where made to unlocked them

I would like to fnd out the status of the issue numbered above. I had submitted a request to have my iPhone 4s unlocked. The AT&T assistant provided me with a tracking number and said the phone would be unlocked in 7 days. Therefore the phone should be unlocked.

Hello,
I am not a customer at AT&T but I bought an iPhone 4 and unfortionately it is locked to AT&T so I have not been able to use it as I was not told it would not work here in Canada, anyways moving on.. I am hoping I am writing in the correct forum to request an unlock for my iPhone 4.
I tried calling the 1800 number several times but I just get 3 beeps and my phone hangs up, so this is why I am posting in this forum.
Thank you for the help in advance.

And apparently now you need to be an AT&T customer, or have the previous AT&T customer's account info or phone number.
Also, don't post your serial number of IMEI number on the forum. No one here can do anything. You have to call AT&T and give them the info.

Hello to all,
I don't know if it is right place to ask for unlock.
I have 2 iPhones 4 from 5th ave.
I don't have a phone numbers on the bill, but I have a sim-card of AT&T for each iPhone
When I call to At&t they say that I need a phone number to unlock it.
The only thing I have is IMEI. So how can I unlock my iPhones?
With best regards,

read the full sentence - key words "rest of the unlocked", the requests where for every Iphone that was we had in the deactivated box, not just one, not all requests where made on the exact same day, they where made over the period of 2 weeks.
Simple if you look at it, case in point a unlock request for two devices was made the morning of 04/11/2012 the first email email was recieved 04/17/2012 94 business days / 6 calendar days), the second email was recieve on 04/23/2012 (8 business days / 12 calendar days). Make sense now?

No one here can unlock your phone. YOU MUST CALL AT&T to get an unlock but there are requirements that you must meet to get your phone unlocked.

Hey guys, here is my problem;
I live overseas and i've bought my iphone 4 2 years ago using ebay. And it was at&t locked. I am pretty sure that it is off the conract and i want to unlock it. One of my my problems is that i don't know my at&t number or anything, I only have the micro sim card.
My second problem is that i can not talk to a at&t customer representetive, when i try it asks me to enter a USA zip code or a home phone number. As you see i don't have any of those informations.
I would like to hear any of your suggestions. Thanks.

Not true...
Anyone, anywhere, can unlock his iphone.
It just have to meet the requirements. Which is basically: OFF CONTRACT and NOT REPORTED STOLEN
Doesn't matter where you live...
And you don't need to be a CURRENT costumer to request the unlock...

Why there apparently is no unlock sticky post in the AT&T Apple forum is beyond me--especially given the dozens and dozens of unlock requests being asked of AT&T here in this thread that will fall on deaf AT&T ears, as far as handling unlock requests are concerned; I would imagine that a sticky would reduce the number of such requests--including those that include IMEI info that undoubtedly creates additional work for mods to have to go into each post in order to remove the posted IMEI...yet we still continue to see "AT&T can you please unlock my phone" posts, many of which (still) include IMEI. Not sure why the AT&T forum mods apparently refuse to create a sticky--the only thing I can think of is that I'm sure most of these posts were made from folks who probably Googled AT&T unlock and got this thread as one of the top hits--thus generating more traffic for the AT&T forum when they eventually click on the link to get them here...which long-term can't be a bad thing for AT&T. I mean, look at the post count of many of these users, the majority of them apparently from outside the U.S.--I'm pretty sure they didn't find out about the iPhone unlock policy simply by just happening to be on the AT&T website and stumbling across the iPhone unlock news release by chance...
In the meantime, we (still) have a sticky for a 99-cent iPhone 3GS which I would imagine there probably isn't nearly much demand for these days, considering that millions and millions of iPhone 4 and 4S models have been sold within the last two years. And before someone tells me that I should simply ask the mods directly--I'm willing to bet that more than a few folks have already asked the mods to create a sticky...

might want to review the new policy that was just published a day or so ago - it is different then the one that was original published. They specificly added a statement that the person requesting the unlock is a current att customer or a former att customer who can provider the phone number or account number for the account.
